That means the adapter is single-link. The monitor will not display a strobed resolution correctly without dual-link DVI.

You would need one of those expensive active DisplayPort to dual-link DVI converters with USB for power, but I wouldn't recommend it because you won't be able to unlock LightBoost with the adapter if the monitor loses power, but you could use an HDMI-DVI cable to unlock LightBoost if that happens. It'd be better to get a card with dual-link DVI, or get a newer monitor with strobing capability.

Thanks for the quick reply! At this stage I think I’m probably best off replacing my monitor with an XL2546. Do you have any idea if the XL2546 monitor is likely to be as smooth with Dyac as the VG27HE with Lightboost?

The other monitors that I’m looking are the XG258Q (ELMB) and the PG258Q (ULMB). From what I’ve read, the XL2546 seems to be the best option in terms of current strobed displays. Would you recommend one of those over the others or something else at 1080p 24” with eliminating motion blur as much as possible being the main priority? I can’t figure out which technology is best for eliminating motion blur and not many people seem to know much about it.
