When the tweaked monitor profile is used, then the "Use EDID or driver defaults" check box in Catalyst Center -> My VGA Displays -> Properties doesn't work anymore (when I try to switch it, it returns to the previous state), and it does not allow me set refresh rate higher than 60 Hz...

I'm running a Compaq p1210 CRT at 1600*1200@96Hz... I set up this and other resolutions (like 1280*960@119) via CRU and then I export it to the DAT file and create an INF profile with MonInfo... This profile can be used as a monitor driver and it used to work just excellent with AMD drivers 13.12 (it would switch automatically to my tweaked refresh rate when the resolution I tweaked was used), but with versions starting from 14 and up it is conflicting with the new drivers... When I use the tweaked monitor profile created with MonInfo, it sets the refresh rate to 60Hz when the PC is restarted... And no other refresh rates can be used...

Can anything be done about it? Thank you in advance for any help...
Report the problem to AMD, and give them the INF file. CRU is just a tool for creating EDID overrides. I can't do anything if the driver isn't handling the override correctly.

Using Nvidia Control Panel, there is an option to customize resolutions and add your own specified refresh rates. Is this pretty much the same as using this tool?
Yes and no. Both can be used to add custom resolutions, but the method is different. CRU uses EDID overrides, which can do other things like set the native resolution, remove unneeded resolutions, and change the way HDMI displays are treated.

Oh, that sounds bad... I'll try, but there's little hope that AMD would care much about adjusting their drivers to tweaked INF files with EDID overrides... A driver patch would be awesome... Thanks anyway...

P.S. Submitted a report to AMD...
Hi, I need some assistance.

I've been using CRU to add a custom resolution of 1440x1080 for my native 1920x1080 monitor for use with older games that doesn't support proper widescreen. Today the resolution was gone from my Windows 8.1, and I just thought I must have delete it or something, but now I cannot add it back in working order.

Here's what I do:

I start up CRU and click on 'add' in the 'Detailed Resolution' section. I then change the resolution to 1440x1080 and do nothing else but add it. The 'Include extension block' is option is off. Afterwards, I simple close CRU and restart the display driver or try to restart my PC. After this is done, I can see the added resolution in Windows, but if I try to apply the resolution then I'm met with a black screen and I have to press 'Esc'.

If I do the same procedure, but instead click on the 'Include extension block' then I cannot even see the added resolution in Windows after I have restarted my PC.

I don't understand what is going on. It used to work, as said. I have also tried to run 'reset-all.exe' in safe mode, but no luck with that either. I also tried to add a resolution under the 'Standard resolutions' section, such as 1440x900, but I also get a black screen if I try to apply it. I am able to add the 1440x1080 resolution via the Nvida control panel, but that's not really want I need.

My setup:

Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
nVidia driver version: 335.23
GTX 560 Ti over HDMI

I hope I've been clear and have provided enough initial info. Thanks.

Edit: I also just tried to uninstall all of my nVdia drivers + I used 'Display Driver Uninstaller' afterwards. No luck there either.

Edit2: Success! I manage to solve it myself. The key was that the scaling options in the Nvida control had reset itself back to performing scaling on the display instead of the GPU. It seems to work fine now again.
I have the following problem - when I had 770gtx card I could use the following resolution:

Now I have r9 290x and I cannot use it because I do not know how to set up the above timings in CRU, can anyone help me please translate them into CRU format? I have a problem with total pixels field - it turns red for the value of 2020.

That timing is impossible. 1920 + 88 + 44 = 2052, so the total can't be less than that. I don't know what NVIDIA's driver is actually doing, but it's probably setting the sync width to 8 because that would make 2020 the lowest functional total when rounding to multiples of 8, and it might be rounding the total to 2024.

CRU is not a downsampling tool either, so there's nowhere to put 3600x2025.
Thanks!
I have LG 40B800V UHD
I have GTX 660ti with 344 driver (support for 4k 60Hz - NVidia support for 4k 60Hz HDMI 1.4)

Problem with flickering at 4096x2160 60Hz and 50Hz also at 3840x2160
30 Hz works fine at 4k

Mozilla works fine windows catalogs also but some aplickations stars flickering

Is there any option to fix it ?

Flickering
Individual apps flickering would either be an app issue or a driver issue. It's definitely not a monitor or resolution issue.
