Try reducing the vertical total. 1024 might be enough to get 120 Hz working. If not, try something lower.

I lowered the vertical total to 1024 and can now do 120Hz, thanks for the tip! But is there any downside to lowering the vertical total? With automatic, 120Hz is 1032 and 119Hz is 1031.

No downsides other than if the vertical blanking/total is too low, the video card won't reduce the memory clock when idle, but 1024 should still be high enough for 1280x960.
ToastX you are the most patient guy ever. You've been asked the same questions over and over and over.... And always awnsered them politely. Thanks for being YOU☺Big Grin
Hi, I got my Acer GN246HL today and I have 2 questions:

1. why does sites like testufo.com sometimes fail to get my refresh rate right? I also downloaded this video of Battlefield 3 running on 120hz and when I ran the video it started on 60fps but then after pausing and starting again and waiting a bit it went 120... Is that something I should be worried about or is it normal?

2. I want to force FIFA 15 to run 144hz in full screen. I can do that in windowed screen but when I go back to full my monitor info screen shows that its 60hz and fps caps at 60, while with windowed mode I can get 100+ :/
I tried CRU, I deleted every other resolution there and set the only detailed resolution to 1920x1080 144hz. I restarted windows and screen wouldn't come up. had to connect monitor with HDMI and use CRU's restart thing. What did I do wrong?

Thank you

That's a browser performance issue, not a problem with the refresh rate. Browser performance has never been reliable, and many things can affect the frame rate. Try using Chrome if you're not already. Chrome seems to be the most reliable with frame rates. Make sure GPU acceleration is enabled in the browser settings. If you have Windows 7, make sure desktop composition is enabled by using one of the Aero themes, not Basic or Classic. If you have multiple monitors connected, that can affect the frame rate synchronization.

Use "LCD reduced" timing for 144 Hz. The pixel clock cannot exceed 330 MHz with dual-link DVI unless you use the driver patch.
Any clue why it doesn't apply when I reset the PC? I set my refresh to 76hz (2560x1080) and it works fine. The issue is when I restart the PC it goes back to 60hz (the control panel shows 76hz though). I need to set another resolution then go back to 76hz to make it work.

How do you know it's 60 Hz if the control panel shows 76 Hz? It shouldn't be possible for there to be a discrepancy unless there's a bug in the video driver. What video card is this?
I can check it on the monitor OSD, I can also tell by the cursor movement (it's slightly smoother at 76hz Tongue).

nvidia 780

Is that happening with the workaround in place? Try importing the blank-extension.dat file.

Which control panel is showing 76 Hz, NVIDIA or Windows? Usually the problem is the other way around, with the Windows screen resolution settings showing 60 Hz while the monitor is running at 76 Hz.

NVIDIA's, I didn't check Window's.

That fixed it! Thanks. Even though I don't have GeForce Experience installed neither any Samsung driver...
