What about it? Maybe newer cards can handle lower values. There's still a lower limit where the memory clock won't clock down.

What do you mean by out of range error? The overclockable X-Star doesn't have an OSD, so it can't display an error. It doesn't have a scaler either, so it shouldn't be able to display 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz.
it does and it doesn't matter if the driver scaling is activated. duno why. the screen is able to go up to 110Hz without any issues and tweaking and starts producing artifacts if i go higher. i was using it at 96Hz for most of the time but it kept my 290 from downclocking the vram and so i ended up with 74,99Hz as max. i attached a screenshot with 1080p and all the settings i could think of. if you need more information don't hesitate to ask.

i have a vid on yt where i replaced the stand and it's pretty easy to spot that it's a singleinput xstar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qj8oA7BhlNE
Hi everyone!

I was using CRU a bit but i don´t find the way to do what i need.

I want to delete some resolutions on windows, for allow to games to take the max resolution i define.

as example, my device is 1280x720 screen resolution
i want to delete 1280x720 for let games to open at the next resolution of my card: 800x600

and after this, i want to add few resolutions to my monitor:
640x400
800x450

and delete all other resolutions, and try running some games and, with a bit of lucky, these games take one of these resolutions for display.

is possible to do this with CRU? can you give me some clues on how to do?

My device: GPD-Win
GPU: Intel Graphics card (integrated)
Monitor: Generic non-PnP Monitor (PNP09FF)

thanks for any clue or help.

Is this only happening with a high vertical total?

I tried only with VT1350 and VT1500 tweaks, it happened only with those.

Are you sure the driver is patched? Run the patcher again to make sure, and make sure you are using the latest version.

I don't see anything wrong with the settings you posted, except I would have 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz as a detailed resolution instead of a standard resolution. Try removing all resolutions except 1920x1080 @ 120 Hz with the VT tweak and 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz as detailed resolutions. If that doesn't work, maybe there's a new driver limit that prohibits large vertical blanking intervals.

"Generic Non-PnP Monitor" means the display doesn't have an EDID, so the driver is providing a default list of resolutions. CRU can override this, but CRU will not work with Intel GPUs until Intel adds support for EDID overrides. Also, Windows will not list resolutions lower than 640x480, but they will still be available for programs to use.

Your screenshot does not match what you're telling me. You said 2560x1440 @ 60 Hz goes out of range after you add the HDMI support data block. Then you said you tried 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz, but your screenshot does not show you added 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz, nor does it show an HDMI support data block. I only see 2560x1440 @ 60 Hz and no extension blocks. The driver automatically adds some common lower resolutions as scaled resolutions, so the driver is automatically scaling 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz to 2560x1440 @ 60 Hz. This should be obvious with Windows 10 because the resolution will switch instantly without the monitor blanking out to change resolutions. If you add 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz with CRU, the monitor will not be able to display it.

The driver will not enable FreeSync unless it thinks the monitor is HDMI, so you need to add the HDMI support data block. This will limit the connection to a single link. If your monitor can't display 2560x1440 @ 60 Hz over a single-link connection, try a lower refresh rate like 50 Hz.
oh. now i got it. i added 1920*1080 with cru and the screen gets corrupted/out of range.

now i lowered the refreshrate to 35hz @ 1440p. that way i don't get the corrupted/out of range image after a driver restart and added hdmi block. afterwards added the hdmi and fs extension blocks but still no avail. after restarting the driver and unplugging/replugging the monitor i still cant get the crimson to show the the monitor supports fs.

i think i give it up. but thanks for your great tool and your afford to help me!

what still puzzles me is that i get out of range (changing colors)/corrupted image (blackscreen with vertical lines) if i add the hdmi block and go above 38hz. this guy claimed he got it working with 66hz and higher on the same monitor: http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=...tcount=156

The FreeSync range needs to be at least 10 Hz apart for the option to be available. Try 24-36 Hz, and you'll have to use the G-SYNC pendulum demo to test because the AMD windmill demo won't go lower than 35 FPS.

That's strange because 40 Hz is still under 165 MHz. The monitor should be able to handle that easily. Most of these monitors should be able to handle 50-60 Hz with a single-link connection.
ok. thanks for the info ToastyX
