AMD Crimson ReLive 17.2.1 - ToastyX Wrote:17.2.1 has an issue with EDID overrides not loading on startup.

Workaround: Toggling GPU scaling will load the EDID override, but this has to be done after every reboot.

Make sure to report this issue to AMD: http://www.amdsurveys.com/se.ashx?s=5A1E27D23A3DE979
Having a problem with getting my resolutions to switch. I have win7 Pro, a Sieki SES0UY04 4k monitor/tv, ATI R9 290 GPU, 15.7.1 catalyst (can't go higher because of an old, unsupported secondary card). For several months my system was running fine with resolutions from 1920x @123hz and lower without problem but I could not get the 3840x resolution to be recognized. Even though it was in my CRU list it just wouldn't show up in the desktop resolution options.

Today I went through the procedures to try and get it back. I imported the latest hdmi.dat file, added then removed tv resolutions (this seems to be a key problem), ran the atikmdag-patcher (after the problem couldn't be solved), and possibly more but after 2 hours I can't keep track of everything I've done.

I want to get my 1920x1080 @ 123hz resolution back but it only shows me the 1920x1080 @60p tv resolution. It's not in my CRU lists and I've deleted the TV resolutions extenstion block. Now that I have my 4k resolution I've lost the res that I use the most and can't seem to get it back.

Any help would be VERY appreciated.

EDIT: Reset everything to start from scratch, restarted (restart64) and made headway. I now have Basic and HDTV resolutions to choose from but I still can't get the resolutions I set with 123hz.

EDIT: I appear to have solved my problem. After all that I did over the last 2 hours it came down to switching from Custom Extension Block to Default Extension Block. This is probably where it was originally and I changed it for reasons I cannot remember any longer. All of the resolutions available previously as well as the missing resolutions are now present and accessible. yay.
I doesnt work for me. using win10 x64, msi r9 380 4Gb and an LG Ultra HD monitor via display port, latest amd drivers. After all process, the list of the graphuics adapter contains only 30 and 60

Unfortunately I can't get past 100hz, my monitor adapter won't show the option. I've had all the way from 60hz to 100hz options (Now running 100hz) but anything above won't show.

Have I hit the limitation of the specs? Can it go further? I'm on a laptop with an IPS 60Hz (running beautifully @ 100Hz) and intel gpu (dedicated nvidia 1060).
You might be running into a pixel clock limit. Someone mentioned running into a 240 MHz pixel clock limit on their laptop. You might be able to squeeze in a higher refresh rate by reducing the totals (total = active + front porch + sync width + back porch). I don't know how low your laptop can go, but it doesn't hurt to try lower values. Just make sure you can get into safe mode just in case you can't see the screen.

That depends on the laptop. What do you want to use CRU for?

Edit 2: so my detailed resolution shows (3 slots left) 2560x1440 @ 59 Hz (241.50Mhz) before I ran program I made sure it was on 144 hz in monitor properties. There is nothing in standard resolution. Extension block says default extension block. When I edit my 59 hz and change to 144hz and restart the monitor doesn't turn on. I'll do just about anything right now to solve this issue it's really fusterating. If I need to buy a DP to hdmi I can try that see if it will work.
Thank you so much I hope to hear from someone
The extension block should not say default extension block. CRU 1.3 should be able to read the extension block with NVIDIA cards, but maybe SLI is getting in the way of that.

DisplayPort doesn't require anything special in the extension block, so you should be able to delete the extension block and just define the resolutions you need. I'm not sure why the monitor wouldn't turn on with 144 Hz, but maybe the monitor only will only accept certain timing parameters.

Run reset-all.exe and restart.exe. If CRU still doesn't show the extension block, try disabling SLI. Then you should be able to edit the extension block and see all the resolutions defined by the monitor. If you only want 144 Hz, use the copy and paste buttons in the detailed resolution dialog to copy the timing parameters to the first detailed resolution in the main window, and delete all the other resolutions.

You should upgrade to CRU 1.3. It can read extension blocks, so you don't need to import hdmi.dat or do anything special. Since you already made changes, you'll have to run reset-all.exe and restart first. Then you can edit the extension block and see all the resolutions and data blocks defined by the monitor.
