I try to overclock my monitor but every time I restart the graphics driver or the pc the desired resolution is not present in the drop down menu of the monitor, only 30Hz & 60Hz

Wich adapter do you use? any link?
It wont let me set my resolution to 1440x1080p and 144hz, everytime i select 1440x1080 in the Windows settings it resets it down to 59hz, and then if i click the dropdown menu and select 144hz it will change my monitors resolution to 640x480

Any idea?

Use the "List All Modes" button in the display adapter properties to choose the correct resolution. What video card do you have? I'm trying to figure out if this is an AMD driver bug or a Windows bug.

Be more specific. What resolution and refresh rates are you trying to add? You mentioned having an Ultra HD monitor. Are you sure the monitor is overclockable? 3840x2160 @ 60 Hz is already pushing bandwidth limits. It's not even possible to add 3840x2160 @ 75 Hz with standard timing parameters using CRU because of EDID limitations. Lower resolutions like 1920x1080 @ 120 Hz might be possible if the monitor can handle it. I know some UHD TVs can do it, but UHD monitors are usually only designed to support 30/60 Hz.

I think you are right. I was trying to get more than 60Hz in 4K which is not possible. I try to overclock it in Full HD, at least 8-10Hz more. Thanks!

Edit 2: so my detailed resolution shows (3 slots left) 2560x1440 @ 59 Hz (241.50Mhz) before I ran program I made sure it was on 144 hz in monitor properties. There is nothing in standard resolution. Extension block says default extension block. When I edit my 59 hz and change to 144hz and restart the monitor doesn't turn on. I'll do just about anything right now to solve this issue it's really fusterating. If I need to buy a DP to hdmi I can try that see if it will work.
Thank you so much I hope to hear from someone
The extension block should not say default extension block. CRU 1.3 should be able to read the extension block with NVIDIA cards, but maybe SLI is getting in the way of that.

DisplayPort doesn't require anything special in the extension block, so you should be able to delete the extension block and just define the resolutions you need. I'm not sure why the monitor wouldn't turn on with 144 Hz, but maybe the monitor only will only accept certain timing parameters.

Run reset-all.exe and restart.exe. If CRU still doesn't show the extension block, try disabling SLI. Then you should be able to edit the extension block and see all the resolutions defined by the monitor. If you only want 144 Hz, use the copy and paste buttons in the detailed resolution dialog to copy the timing parameters to the first detailed resolution in the main window, and delete all the other resolutions.

Thank you toasty everything is working fine now! thank you very much for your time. i was actually removing the extention block myself which i guess was the problem. a lot of videos only tell me to do this but once ileft it in there then it worked. the difference between extention block and detailed resolution i could quite figure out tho. ty so muvh friend
No matter what I do I can't seem to get the overclocked (72hz) to show up in the drop down menu. I tried editing the detailed resolution and sticking 72 in there. I tried adding new with LCD Standard too. I have the most recent ReLive drivers and run as administrator.

Its weird but apparently I can change the refresh rate in Radeon Settings using the custom resolutions under Display. However, I can change it from there completely independent of CRU.

How can I get CRU to work? I'm almost thinking that the relive driver gets in the way somehow.

What does manage to show up though is adding freesync to non-freesync monitor. It seems to register in Radeon Settings, however it crashes right away when I do the windmill test.

EDIT: Okay I got it to work by enabling GPU Scaling. I still have the issue of black screen crash when I load up the freesync windmill application. I get a few seconds of the windmill then it just crashes. I've tried ranges as narrow as 48-60 on my BenQ GW2760HS and is connected through HDMI. HDMI mhz oc set to 660.

EDIT 2: I manage to not crash in the freesync windmill test. I don't get it, but I had to overclock my refresh rate to a decimal number. So when I was on the default 60hz or overclock 72hz, it would crash a second into the windmill test. But when I set it to 72.5 or 61.5 it seems to launch just fine. Now that I have the windmill test running, I don't see any difference at all with freesync toggled on. It still tears like crazy without vsync-- I don't doubt that it works for a lot of people, I just can't get it to work right :/

EDIT 3: Still having problems with freesync actually working. But to clarify on why it was crashing when initially loading up the windmill demo-- I think it the freesync range just had to be under the monitor max refresh rate. So my monitor refresh was at 72.5, whereas my freesync range was from 30-71 and that seems to keep it from crashing. Freesync still doesn't work though, and I bought it down to freesync range 15-71hz, which I imagine is supposed to cause monitor issues but it made no difference on my end-- so it's probably not being applied.
Good news for anyone running on intel integrated graphics using haswell, skylake or kaby lake CPUs.

Intel released beta driver 15.45.4614 (21.20.16.4614), which appears to unlock custom resolution support for Windows 7-10 on skylake & kaby lake.

Get the driver here:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloa...ta-15-45-#

Haswell is also apparently supported by this other driver: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloa...uct=81498#

I've tested this driver + CRU on skylake i7-6700hq (hd 530) with nvidia optimus enabled, windows 7.
After adding 65hz to the built in 1080p panel and rebooting the computer the new refresh rate showed up in windows and seems to actually work.

ToastyX, could you update the first post to link to this new working beta driver?
(It turns out the 4590 driver doesn't support custom resolutions and was a miscommunication - this 4614 driver seems to be the real deal)
