I have an issue when connecting a Geforce 1080 with my new Sony 65ZF9 with a HDMI 2.0b cable capable of 18Gbps. At 3840x2160 with 30Hz in RGB mode the Nvidia Control Panel allows me for selecting either 8 or 12 bit. What about 10 bit? At 3840x2160 with 50Hz in RGB mode the Nvidia Control Panel allows me for selecting only 8 bit. OK, 12 Bit is impossible with HDMI 2.0. But what about 10 bit? That would mathematically / theoretically be possible in my setup according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Refre...DR10_video

Is it possible to force the driver using 10 bit at 3840p50 or at least at let's say 3840p24 with CRU?

The FreeSync data block is for editing FreeSync ranges with HDMI. It's not for enabling FreeSync on non-FreeSync monitors.

Hey, okay, but is there a way to enable it for non freesync monitor, but with Displayport instead of HDMI? I got it to work over HDMI,but whenever i try it with displayport i cant get the freesync range to show up in the AMD Radeon software. My v-rate is set to 50-120 Hz

UHD 50 Hz and 60 Hz use the same amount of bandwidth. That table is based on CVT-R2, which isn't what TV resolutions use. You should be able to enable 30-bit deep color (10 bpc) in the HDMI data block to get 10-bit with 24/25/30 Hz. You might be able to get UHD 50 Hz to use 10-bit with custom timing parameters, but I'm not sure if the driver will allow 10-bit for non-TV resolutions.
- Used this program for years, but lately I've been having a weird problem.

- On my BenQ XL2546, I'll make a blur busters vertical total tweak for 182hz, select it in the nvidia drivers, everytime I reboot it resets the monitor to 144hz, even if I delete the 144hz resolution inside custom resolution utility, very very weird.

- Quick Update: Replaced my displayport cable and the custom refresh rate is saving after reboots now... very weird stuff.
Hi everyone, and thank you ToastyX for cru.

I used cru for a long time, but now with my new gpu i have a problem.

My Specs:

gpu: Nvidia 1080ti
monitor: Acer XR342ck 75Hz Freesync (48-75Hz Freesync range) DP1.2


With Amd cards, i was always able to overclock the monitor with cru, to 100Hz and a freesync range of 35-100Hz.

But now with Nvidia, if i set it to 100Hz via Windows after setting everything with cru, it always goes dark and resets.


Can anybody help me ? I want this sweet 100Hz back ...

Here are my settings:
(It also don't work if i make a normal detailes resolution. And everything beyond the standard 75Hz won't work neither)

The first data block should not have an HDMI data block if it's DisplayPort. I also don't know what limitations NVIDIA might have with FreeSync. NVIDIA typically could not run certain FreeSync monitors at higher refresh rates without the monitor skipping frames, which means the monitor could not do higher than 75 Hz with NVIDIA cards, but that was before NVIDIA added FreeSync support.

Yes, i am using Displayport.

These are the things i did.:

1: Changed the range limits in detailed resolutions

But still, if i try to change the refresh rate, either in Nvidia or Windows control panel, the screen goes black (no signal) and then resets back to 75Hz.

I tried different Hz rates / ranges above the original 75Hz, with no success.

Do you know what i am doing wrong ?

I don't see anything wrong. NVIDIA's FreeSync implementation is not exactly the same as AMD's. NVIDIA might not be able to drive that monitor at 100 Hz even if AMD can.
