Hey guys, I am trying to add 1440x1080 @ 144Hz.
I am able to get 120Hz to work properly but any time I try 144 it says monitor is out of range. I have tried manual, standard and reduced all at 144 but can't get it to work.
I have already applied the pixel clock patch. Am I doing something wrong? I am just entering 144 in the "Refresh rate" box and letting the program fill in the rest.
The monitor is capable of 144Hz of course.

The monitor probably can't handle 144 Hz with lower resolutions. You can enable GPU scaling with the aspect option to let the GPU handle the resolution instead. Then all the refresh rates at the native resolution should be available for lower resolutions. If the 1440x1080 doesn't get listed with GPU scaling enabled, try adding it as 60 Hz.

I'm not 100% certain but I don't believe it has switchable graphics. I see nothing for a built in gpu, in the system or in the bios.

I installed the hdmi.dat file and I still have the same results. Along with enabling and disabling the extension block.

UPDATE
So I unpatched the driver and started over. I set a resolution of 3840x2160@15hz to keep it under the limit and it worked... I can get up to 18hz before it stops working. However, patching the drivers and doing 3840x2160@19-30 doesn't work.

StarTech.com DP2HDS came today. Same results as above. I know for sure that this is an active adapter.

The bizlink TK041 I believe is a passive adapter. When I view edid information in CCC switching between the two shows adaptive and passive. Still doesn't seem to want to go past the 165mhz clock speed, even with the patch. Makes me wonder if it's a Raedon vs FirePro issue... would that affect the amd patcher you created at all?

More Info...
I tried plugging directly in through my hdmi out port, thinking it wouldn't work, but it did, 3840x2160@18 ... I even tried using the docking station + DP>HDMI both adapters, same results... and that's about all I have. Not sure what else to do or try.

In January 2013, a new VESA specification was released called DisplayPort Dual-Mode Standard version 1.1, which brings dual-mode capabilities on par with HDMI 1.4, allowing a TDMS clock rate of up to 300 MHz... -and- A notable limitation of Type 1 dual-mode is that it can only transmit single-link DVI (and HDMI), as the number of pins in the DisplayPort connector is insufficient for dual-link connections. Also, it is limited to a TMDS clock rate of 165 MHz. As a result, an active converter is needed for Dual-Link DVI, HDMI 1.3+, and analog component video such as VGA.

Well I have both passive and active, neither go above the 165mhz clock rate.

FINAL UPDATE
I just recieved Accell B086B-003B which is a Type 2 active adapter. Everything works perfectly!

Yep it works now using GPU scaling and then adding it as 60Hz. Thanks

I don't know what you mean. Resolutions are arbitrary. Why not just add a lower resolution? What aspect ratio is your monitor? 1088x612 and 1024x576 are 16:9. Windows won't list anything lower than 800x600 in the main screen resolution settings, but you can choose lower resolutions in the advanced settings.

That's good to know. That seems to be the only adapter designed to work past 165 MHz.

Sorry because i think, it's not the best place for post my question but i don't find solution somewhere else

So i bought a new monitor 120 Hz ( Benq XL2411 ) and I can't adjust 120 Hz in windows. I'm stuck at 60 Hz in 1920 *1080 resolution. For use 120 Hz i can adjust at 1024*768. i use dual link dvi cable into the correct port.
i put driver monitor but nothing
i have ASUS HD 6950 Direct CU II 2go and i have corrextly adjust my graphic card : http://www.asus.com/uk/websites/global/p...itor02.jpg

So i don't understand where is the problem...

I wonder if I should use AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher to patch the driver and Custom Resolution Utility to add higher refresh rates ??

No, you shouldn't have to do that. That card has a switch that you need to flip to turn one of the DVI ports into dual-link DVI. If that doesn't work, then something is wrong with the card.

You might be able to use the patch and CRU to make 120 Hz work with single-link DVI, but the monitor was not meant to be used that way, and LightBoost probably won't function properly if you wanted to try that.
