That's definitely a driver bug. Try reporting it to NVIDIA by opening a ticket:

That depends on the driver. What happens when you add 3840x2160 @ 120 Hz with CRU?

anything over 60hz goes red, using the DisplayId method is the only way it lets me put in anything over 60hz at 4k but I never get a usable resolution no matter what timing preset I do. Not sure what I'm not doing right

What do you mean by usable resolution? What happens if you try to set the resolution?

My tv says incompatible signal or something like that
any way to add 4k/100hz/12bpc/444 for my LG CX connected to 3070.
when i select 4k/100hz , i get only 8 and 10 bpc as options.
4k/100hz/12bpc/444 is well with in 40 Gbps hdmi 2.1 port on LG CX, but nvcp not allowing 12 bpc @ 100 hz.
Anyway to add this particular configuration via CRU?

In the CEA-861 extension block, in the HDMI data block, are "YCbCr 4:4:4 deep color" and "36-bit deep color (12 bpc)" enabled?

Then the TV doesn't support the resolution.
another update.
I also tried to edit and add 4k 100 hz in the detailed resolution , but its not allowing me to go over 60 hz. It shows numbers in red color if i go above 60 hz.

I can create the resolution in nvidia control panel and it works, just HDR doesn't come on which is why I want to use CRU. So I assume I'm not doing something right.
