Hey guys,

So I just got a new Xiaomi Curved 34" monitor + Nvidia 3060 ti.
When I open CRU I only get 3440x1440 @120 Hz resolution instead of @144 Hz. In Nvidia Control panel or windows display settings I can select 144 Hz though.
Is this considered to be normal? Shouldn't it be @144 Hz in CRU too?




I only edited the freesync range in CRU as I was trying to get rid of flickering. No other changes made.

Are you connected with DisplayPort? Your EDID may be missing the DisplayID extension block.

I also have similar issue, my panel(LG CX OLED) has 120hz native refresh rate, but i see only 60 hz in CRU detailed resolution.

Yes I'm connected with DP. How do I fix the missing block?

The second extension block ("Default extension block") is probably a DisplayID extension block that contains 3440x1440 @ 144 Hz, but CRU can't read more than one extension block with NVIDIA because the driver doesn't provide it for some reason. You'll have to delete the default extension block and add a DisplayID extension block, then manually add 3440x1440 @ 144 Hz.

The LG CX has 3840x2160 @ 120 Hz as a TV resolution. It doesn't need to be a detailed resolution. HDMI doesn't normally use DisplayID, so there's no way to define 3840x2160 @ 120 Hz with an EDID detailed resolution because of the high pixel clock.

Not sure if the Intel driver links on the first post of this thread are accurate, but they reference v15 and I'm on v20 and v26. The Intel links also say the drivers are only for Win 7 and 8.1, but I'm on 10.

You need an HDMI support data block in the first extension block. Intel changed the links at some point. I don't know which drivers work with EDID overrides. The way they handle drivers is confusing. They have a bunch of different driver versions and multiple branches for different GPUs instead of a single unified driver like AMD and NVIDIA. Newer drivers should work, but some people had issues with DCH drivers.

Hey ToastyX, I'm back. I've been using straight HDMI in the interim. I'm still in the same boat, except that I've given up on the KVM.

At this point, I'm trying to follow the instructions for "older Intel cards," and it's kinda working, but not really.

So here's my testing setup. I have my PC's HDMI connected to an HDMI A/B switch. The A side has an HDMI cable connected to the HDMI input of the monitor. The B side has an HDMI/Dual-Link-DVI-D cable connected to the DVI-D input of the monitor. If I plug it in while the switch is on B (DVI), it detects 1080 and won't go any higher. If I plug it in while the switch is on A (HDMI), it detects 1440 and angels sing from the heavens.

If I switch it from A to B, since it was never "unplugged," it doesn't detect the change, and it keeps displaying 1440 beautifully over DVI.

But if I do anything else--unplug it, undock the laptop, or anything--it immediately reverts back to ugly 1080.

If I launch CRU while it's correctly displaying 1440 and I export that, then I re-import it (via .exe or CRU import) while it's stuck in 1080, it's so much worse. The image is 1440 downsampled to 1080, upscaled back to 1440, and it looks like a nightmare.

I'm about to just plug in an external HDMI switch and call it a day, but I really want to get this working. It's killing me that it's so close. Is there any info I can provide to help get this to behave?

I said you need an HDMI support data block in the first extension block. I don't see that in your screen shots. Why not just use HDMI-DVI with the Nintendo Switch instead, since it only needs 1080p? Then you won't have to deal with workarounds.

Easy way to test is delete 144 Hz and see if it disappears, or add 143 Hz and see if it's available.
