CRU can't force anything. Does changing the maximum TMDS character rate to 1200 Mcsc make any difference? The highest value it will accept is 1275 Mcsc, so I'm not sure that's used with HDMI 2.1.

The only other thing I can think of is try creating a detailed resolution in a DisplayID extension block and tweak the timing parameters to reduce the bandwidth.

CRU doesn't currently have a preset for the CTA-861 timing parameters for 3840x2160 @ 100 Hz, so you'll have to enter it manually:

Code:
Active:       3840  2160
Front porch:  1056     8
Sync width:     88    10
Back porch:    296    72

Refresh rate:  100 Hz
Pixel clock:  1188 MHz

Then try reducing values and see if the TV will display it.

Tried it. i added the displayid section successfully and restarted.

But still could not get the 12bpc @ 4k/100hz in nvcp.

i managed to get the edid info using asset manager utility.

can you tell me if the TV can support 4k/100hz/ycbcr444/12bpc from this file?

if the TV can support it , then its clearly a driver issue. Then the ball falls in the nvidia's court.

Oh, I do see something that would limit the maximum FRL rate to 40 Gbps. I didn't know what that was for because I don't have the HDMI 2.1 specs, but your comment about FRL helped me make the connection. CRU doesn't have a way to edit any of the HDMI 2.1 features yet, but it can import the changes.

I m getting 4k/120hz/ycbcr444/12bpc on my lg cx which has only 40Gbps.

but 4k/120hz/ycbcr444/12bpc requires full 48 gbps.

How is this even possible?

I changed the max to 48 Gbps (12 x 4 lanes). A future version of CRU will be able to edit the value. Sometimes TVs will support features that aren't listed in the EDID like higher refresh rates or color formats. I didn't know what the FRL rate was for until now.

Also this means that LG CX always had support for 48Gbps , but they advertised it as only 40 Gbps. Is my understanding correct?

They could patch it in the future firmware versions, correct?

That's possible. If it displays correctly, I don't think there will be a problem, but technically you are running it outside of their intended specifications.
Hi There,

I have been using CRU for years with pleasure on Win 7. Recently I decided to upgrade my HTPC ( which is based on an AMD Athlon 5150 APU) to Win 10 and I basically can't get the things working right anymore...
My display is a "high-end" CRT projector which connects through VGA connector and RGBHV cable - no EDID information.
My goal resolution is 1920*1080i 120Hz with custom timings.
I have went through several AMD driver versions too, the problem is the following:
Some AMD drivers support built in custom resolutions, which kinda work, but the output gamma is messed up and neither the driver's nor the windows' color correction adjustments are working, the output picture is too dark. Some other AMD drivers can do the color output thing right, but for some reason these versions do not have built in tool for resolution adjustment. Here would come the CRU. But whenever I add any custom resolution slot (does not matter whether I actually use it or not) after restart the windows background keeps flashing every few seconds. This flashing is looking like as if the video driver would reset itself all the time because the mouse also jumps back to screen centre most of the time. Very annoying... Running reset-all.exe solves this instantly (but I also loose my custom resolution.)
Needless to say that all this was working perfectly under Win 7.
Any help would be appreciated!

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad L480 with me at the moment but cannot seem to overclock the built-in-display following numerous successes on other hardware using CRU.

After punching in some numbers and restarting Windows, the new refresh rates never appear under advanced display settings as an option to select.
Even removing the original 48Hz and 60Hz refresh rates, but leaving only a single custom setting set by myself, has no effect. Windows will once again ignore anything that I've set and only provide 48Hz and 60Hz as selectable options.

CRU lists the display name as "LEN40A9" but the panel itself seems to be an "AUO B140HAK01.0" according to HWInfo.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this may be the case and if so, how might I be able to resolve it?

Try the alternative method. If that doesn't work, then the driver is ignoring EDID overrides for some reason.

"LEN40A9" is just the PnP ID of the display, not the model of the panel. LEN is Lenovo's manufacturer ID.

That's a driver bug that affects analog connections without EDIDs. That bug was introduced years ago. I don't think they'll ever fix it. The best solution would be to get an active HDMI-VGA adapter that sends its own EDID if one isn't available. I think some of the cheaper adapters will do this, but I'm not sure which ones because it's often not an advertised feature.
