so, i connecting the GPU with PC monitor via HDMI when it tun on and boot logo show up, the display detect as "1920x1080 60Hz", but when entering the login screen it will change and detect as "1080p 60Hz". I think the GPU detect the PC monitor as LCD TV.

i have raspberry, and if this happen i easily change the setting 'HDMI group' from CEA to DMT. so i need tutorial how to change that in windows? i already download the latest CRU but i dont know what to do. thanks
CEA and DMT use the same timing parameters for 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz, so I don't see how that makes a difference. It's probably sending a DVI signal while booting, then switches to HDMI when the driver loads. Also, DVI only supports RGB, while HDMI supports RGB and YCbCr, but you can set the pixel format in Radeon Settings. Is there a problem with the HDMI signal? Deleting the "HDMI support" data block in the CTA-861 extension block will make it send a DVI signal.

(01-10-2021 09:12 AM)pipa Wrote: [ -> ]Indeed 1080i is there. This means that AMD Vega boards don't support interlaced resolutions, right? 1080i is still very used among TV professionals. I've to give it back to Amazon. What a pity, the laptop (Huawei MateBook 14 AMD) is very stylish and fast!
The hardware might be able to support interlaced resolutions, but the driver does not for newer GPUs. NVIDIA RTX GPUs don't support interlaced resolutions either.

Hi ToastyX,
as far as you know, does the new Nvidia MX450 GPU support interlaced resolutions?

TIA, ciao
How is CRU to be removed because I don't see it listed under remove apps in Win 10 nor in CCleaner.
Or can the CRU map simply be removed via the trash can?

CRU doesn't have an installer. If you made any changes, run reset-all.exe and reboot. Then you can delete the files.

I don't know, but laptops with NVIDIA GPUs usually have switchable graphics with Intel GPUs, and I don't know if Intel supports interlaced resolutions.

OK thx. Wink
Hey Toasty. Are you still maintaining this CRU software?

My computer is running Win 10 and I downloaded and ran your CRU software. I have 4 monitors, but just 3 HDMI ports on my laptop & docking station combined.

I bought a HDMI splitter to attach to the HDMI port on my laptop directly and then tried to use the CRU software to increase the resolution from 1920 x 1080 to 3840 x 1080 for the main monitor so that I could use two of the monitors as one off the splitter.

The resolution option shows in the Display Resolution dropdown, but whenever I try to select it, it just returns to 1920 x 1080. (see attachment)

Please help.

I've restarted and I ran the restart.exe with no effect.

Yes, I just released 1.5.1 four days ago.

That can only be a driver bug. There's no reason for a resolution to be listed in the display settings if it can't be selected.

Splitters are for displaying the same image on two monitors. I don't see how sending 3840x1080 to both monitors would work the way you want.
Hey Toasty, can you manage to make it possible to use option "Perform scalling on monitor" in Nvidia Contol Panel when using custom resolutions from CRU?
If I create custom resolution, it's only showing GPU in Nvidia Control Panel's scalling options

Monitor: asus vg245h
HDMI (monitor only has HDMI, no displayport)
5700 XT latest drivers
Win10

I'm simply adding a new 1080p profile with 75hz, also tried changing the 60hz one to 75hz, did it via extension blocks as well.

After restarting the pc or using the restart64, radeon greys out the freesync. It says my freesync range is 40-75hz, so it should work, no?
It's annoying because vsync sets my FPS to 60 because of this. Using the custom resolution feature in Radeon doesn't fix this (despite making sure the display is set to 75hz). Making the change in CRU fixes it but then freesync is disabled.
I remember CRU working just fine with a year ago with my RX580 (and older drivers obviously but with AMD i don't really have the luxury of using older drivers given how broken they were for the 5700 XT)
The monitor already defines 1920x1080 @ 75 Hz, so I don't understand how adding it again would make a difference. If vsync is not working correctly, that would be a driver bug. Are you sure it's set to 75 Hz in the Windows display settings? I don't know why editing is disabling FreeSync. CRU doesn't include the range limits by default, but that shouldn't be needed with HDMI FreeSync. Try using the "Edit..." button at the top and enable "Include if slot available" under range limits.

Depending on the driver version I had several instances where 75hz wasn't listed in the display settings until I added it with CRU, usually after ticking on VSR or using GPU scaling iirc.
