is there any good workaround for using CRT monitors on new gen hardware?

The workaround would be to use progressive resolutions. If the monitor can handle 1400x1050i @ 150 Hz, then it should be able to handle 1400x525p @ 150 Hz, but Windows doesn't have a way to change the aspect ratio, so you'd have to use 700x525p @ 150 Hz.

thanks for the suggestion, i made a custom resolution at 1400x525p @ 150 Hz but and stretched the aspect ratio with my OSD. looks a little weird tho. the weirdest part about this is the fact that the radeon software still has the option for interlaced in the custom resolution menu
Hello all. Long-time lurker; registered to ask a question I can't seem to find answer to.
My P75QX-H1 Vizio tv and HW-Q950A Samsung soundbar have worked well together for many months via eARC. A few weeks ago Vizio updated TV firmware and now the two devices no longer complete a successful HDMI 2.0b/2.1 eARC handshake. Changing HDMI mode on TV eARC/ARC input to HDMI 1.4 and using normal ARC is the only workaround.
Vizio have acknowledged the issue as an EDID problem with the TV and are working on a fix.
Using Dr HDMI and my RTX 3080 I've taken readings of the eARC TV port EDID and used CRU's intuitive GUI to decode.
My question: is there any flag in EDID that communicates the TV is eARC capable? I've found the extension for HDMI 2.1, but that focuses more on video capabilities, 48gbps bandwidth, etc.
If even possible, I'd like to fix the EDID myself and load through Dr HDMI to restore HDMI 2.0b/eARC between TV and soundbar. Otherwise it's waiting 6 months for Vizio to release new firmware. Thanks!

My TV is a Samsung RU7100 65.
It's HDR is low tier and i want to Completely disable it in Windows 10.
How to do it ? sorry for that, i just don't want to mess with it and do something wrong.

Hello, i have monitor M32U and RX580 graphic card, and there is few problems . As i know rx580 support display port 1.3 and 1.4 but when i set 3840x2160 resolution , there is only 2 options to turn on 10 bit with amd driver , is works with 98Hz refresh rate, if i set 99Hz or more is automaticaly return color to 8 bit.
So with DP cable i can set 3840x2160 98Hz 10 bit or 120hz 8bit (where is also 144hz option?)
With HDMI cable i can set only 3840x2160 and 60hz 8 bit.
What should i do try to push it works like is should be?

Thanks very much for your response. I've found a couple technical docs on HDMI 2.x / EDID specifications and wasn't able to find a link to eARC, so makes sense. Based on the lack of information from my searching it seems like eARC connections are almost analogue in nature (which I'm sure is not actually the case).
My assumption then is that two devices form a successful eARC handshake based on some combination of Audio format and HDMI 2.x extensions. And at that point TV firmware has to do the rest (which Vizio unfortunately broke). I only mention this because normal ARC still works; it's eARC that stopped functioning after the update.
All this is probably off-topic here given most use CRU as it was designed - between PC and TV/Monitor as opposed to what I'm trying to do here. But there's a lot of smart folks here too, so worth a try.
