Hello there!

I have Lenovo Thinkpad L480. I tried overclocking it through CRU but nothing seems to be working. I have followed the steps correctly and spent hours repeating the same. Intel's graphic command center does not let me go above 60hz. Moreover, under Advanced graphic settings, I only get two profiles i.e 48hz and 60hz although Intel's command center show under information tab that my screen supports upto 75hz.

Any sort of help will be appreciated.
When i go on stretched resolution with cru, i get a black screen for 2-3 seconds when tabbing out. How can I fix this. i have disabled and enabled full screen resolutions, changed the display scaling settings but nothing fixes it. It is fine in 1920x1080.

The only way to avoid that is to use GPU scaling or never switch resolutions.

If no changes will take effect, then Intel's driver doesn't allow EDID overrides for your laptop.
So Nvidia made some changes with how they work with EDIDs in the 5.11 drivers. This seemed to completely break HDMI output for me on my screen. They posted about this as a known issue affecting some displays, claiming it was something to do with problems with the EDID.

Now on this screen I was using CRU to remove the 4096 mode as the driver would incorrectly select this when scaling was enabled.

Eventually I managed to get this driver working by resetting all my CRU changes and then re-removing the mode I didn't want. Is it possible there's something about the changes CRU makes that these new drivers don't like?

Nvidia's post about it is here

Thanks

CRU fixes checksums when it makes changes, so this issue shouldn't affect CRU.
Hi
Hi
I have an AMD RX480 8G graphic card (id harware: PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_67DF&SUBSYS_22D01458&REV_C7)
I use Windows 10, fresh install with latest updates and Radeon software 21.10.2
I'm trying to connect it to an LG TV 65NANO953NA, for an 7680x4320 resolution
I'm connecting through the DisplayPort whitch is v 1.4
I used 3 HDMI 2.1 cables with the next adapters:
1. Lindy 41094
https://www.lindy-international.com/Disp...&ci=200402
DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI 8K Active Converter - LINDY International Limited<https://www.lindy-international.com/DisplayPort-1-4-to-HDMI-8K-Active-Converter.htm?websale8=ld0101.ld021102&pi=41094&ci=200402>
2. https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B0...UTF8&psc=1
3. https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B0...UTF8&psc=1 (this one with an DP 1.4 cable - https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B0...UTF8&psc=1)
I tried also this cable https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B0...UTF8&psc=1
I have selected 29,970 refresh rate
But I cannot get any resolution higher than 3840x2160
I'm not able to create a custom resoultion of 7680x4320
On the TV I selected 8k resolution as well
I contacted AMD customer service ant they redirected me to the producer of the graphic card. The last message was to try another monitor, like the 8k monitors are hanging in trees
I tried CRU, I patched the graphic card with your amd patch, reset, and restart64
but I still donțt get the 7680p
What should I do to get 7680x4320 resolution as all the devices that I used are advertised that support this resolution?
Thank you

DisplayPort 1.4 is limited to 1080 MHz pixel clock at 8 bpc and 1440 MHz pixel clock at 6 bpc. Anything higher requires Display Stream Compression (DSC), which the RX 480 doesn't support. In theory, setting the pixel format in the Radeon software to YCbCr 4:2:2 should allow 30 Hz to work, but I'm not sure how that translates when using active adapters. For YCbCr/RGB 4:4:4, the CTA-861 timing for 7680x4320 @ 30 Hz is 1188 MHz, so you would need to reduce that. "Automatic (PC)" will bring it down to 1030.42 MHz. Do not use the patcher. You will have to add a DisplayID extension block to add a custom 7680x4320 resolution.
Thanks. I'll try it tomorrow. One last question: should I replace the RX480 with RX 6600 XT?

The RX 6600 XT supports HDMI 2.1, which will allow you to use HDMI directly and get 8K @ 60 Hz.
