Describe what you mean by it's not recognizing 120 Hz. What GPU do you have?

I have a 3090. It won’t allow me to
Set a custom resolution (above 2560x1440p) above 60hz.
Nvidia control panel does though.

The only way you can create a custom resolution beyond a pixel clock of 655.35mhz is by adding a "DisplayID 2.0" extension block and then adding a detailed resolution in there. What specific resolution are you trying to add btw?

Well, I don't want to take up too much of your time, because so far I've actually been able to use Nvidia Control panel in custom resolutions while maintaining 10bit color and HDR, which is something I was anticipating having an issue with. Many have written they have had that issue; however to answer your question, 3840x1800 and 3840x1620. I was hoping to set up CRU just in case it starts to give me a problem. I appreciate your quick replies.

You need to be more specific. I still have no idea what part you're having trouble with. Describe in detail what you're doing and what happens.
(03-17-2022 12:04 AM)ShodanCat Wrote: [ -> ]edit: OK, I realize now the main issue is that CRU doesn't let you edit the 'native' resolution in the 'detailed resolutions' box past 655.35mhz pixel clock - so I guess unless there's a workaround for that, I'd have to deal with 2560x1440 listed as native to truly eliminate the 60hz option..
I haven't found a way to define the native resolution outside of the first detailed resolution. All the other methods I know seem to be ignored by the graphics driver and Windows.
I've been trying to add 1440x1080 as a resolution on CRU with no success. My monitor specs can be seen here https://www.manualslib.com/manual/120483...ml?page=4.

So far the only way I've been getting 1440x1080 to work on it is through AMD's custom resolutions and even with that I gotta manually export the registry key and edit it to make it work, on windows it shows the resolution like this: https://i.imgur.com/reSXX77.png (note the active signal). Wondering if I can add it "natively" with CRU because then I could use GPU scaling which doesn't work with the registry editing method.
Tried just adding 1440x1080 on CRU but the monitor complains about being out of range or something.

Thanks in advance.

That means the monitor doesn't support the resolution. The monitor is 1024x768. The resolution you created with AMD is a GPU-scaled resolution. CRU can't create downscaled resolutions.

ToastyX Wrote:CRU adds monitor resolutions, not scaled resolutions. Lower resolutions can be scaled up to the native resolution by enabling GPU scaling in the graphics driver's control panel, but higher resolutions won't be scaled down by the GPU. Higher resolutions will only work if the monitor can handle them.
Hello all,

I'm having problems using CRU (1.5.1) with my RTX 3080.

Everytime i try to change any setting (even decreasing freesync range on V Rate), and then restart, the whole screen just goes black.
This stays even after a restart, and usually I have to switch to another Display Port, and disable freesync on my monitor.

This also happens with my HDMI TV, if i try to add a freesync range, or any information at all. Huh

I've always had AMD GPUs and could successfully change the freesync range of my DP Monitor and add Freesync to my HDMI TV. Dodgy

Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong?
a million dollar question

How do i set the hdmi output of my j3455 to 3840x2160 60hz 4:2:0 ??

super mega thanks to those who unblock me from this situation because I tried for 2 hours with zero results:Angel
Need to use refresh rate from 59.500 to 59.999 for some reason
But after setting it in CRU
Windows settings do not show 59 only 59.94

Or another case such as 60.000 to 60.499
I can actually only use the system default refresh rate of 60 instead of the refresh rate I set (60.XXX)

Is there a way to solve this problem?

Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong?
If changing literally anything causes a black screen, then it's a driver bug. Some reported issues since 471.11, but that was a system freeze, not just a black screen. As for the TV, there's no way to add FreeSync to a display with NVIDIA. NVIDIA does not support HDMI FreeSync, only HDMI 2.1 VRR.
