Does AMD support HDMI VRR? If the TV supports VRR, it should already be enabled unless the GPU or driver doesn't support it. The range is defined in the HDMI 2.x data block.

i changed this manually and it seems to make the monitor more responsive.
do you have any information on how the DPMS works (active-off) mode?
More responsive how? DPMS isn't used anymore. Windows and modern displays only support on and off. Active off was the lowest power mode and equivalent to what off is now.

Some users have found that AMD RX6000 series supports HDMI Forum VRR only when TMDS is being used (like at 4k60). But once the card goes into FRL mode, only FreeSync over HDMI becomes available and it won't support HDMI Forum VRR anymore. I was hoping there would be some way to trick the card into still using HDMI Forum VRR.

moving around mouse and typing on keyboard feels more responsive. how did you find out DPMS isnt used anymore is there documentation i can read to get more info?
also, how come the 4th byte of the EDID DTD in supposedly empty timing descriptors is 10?
thanks for your help

That seems backwards. Does the HDMI 2.x data block have the VRR range set? What happens if you remove the FreeSync data block?

I feel like there is an AMD driver issue going on that can't be bypassed.
If you delete the FreeSync data block while using FRL (4k120 444 10-bit) while using a TV that supports FreeSync and HDMI Forum VRR (such as LG OLED), then Adrenalin will show "VRR" is being used instead of FreeSync. The TV will also indicate that VRR is being used instead of FreeSync. But, the images will still tear.
If you use a TV that doesn't support FreeSync but does support HDMI Forum VRR such as Sony A80J, then the AMD GPU will not use VRR. However, if you delete the FreeSync data block, then Adrenalin will show VRR is being used. However, some people report they get black screens and others seem to have it working fine by modifying the VRR range.

Get out
what's the reason? how come you respond this way?
Hello, i need help setting up my Gsync VRR range please.
The monitor is DELL S2417DG 165Hz (Have Gsync Module Chip) (VRR Range 30Hz-165Hz on spec) but in reality it can go down to 15Hz, connected using display port.
What i did is change these two value :
1. minimum VRR range (V Rate) to 48Hz (Default is 30Hz)
2. "Include if slot available" Check
And then restart.exe
But the monitor still able to go down 15Hz
Need guide how to setting up properly
Thankyou
