Hi i have an external monitor which can be on 165 refresh rate. I just updated my laptop to windows 11 and suddenly my refresh rate options became limited. I have tried the intel graphic control and using CRU but it didnt change my refresh rate options on windows advanced display setting. I have added the 165hz into cru detailed resolution but it still didnt work. In the intel graphic app the supported resolutionfor 144 and 165 hz is still there. I am primary a fps gamer and so i need all the hz i have. Thanks for the help. attached are the screenshots. Also i cant change my refresh rate from monitor settings. i used to be able to just change it with cru back in windows 10 but now the options are just gone. I would like to also mention i cant add a custom resolution from nvidia since its an intel graphic and the intel graphic app doesnt have the refresh rate option when adding custom resolutions

If your monitor supports 165 Hz, then you shouldn't need to add it. I don't understand why you would use CRU to add a refresh rate that should already exist. Ask Intel why their driver is not allowing 165 Hz.

You can't add HDR to an SDR display.

i dont think its about number of pixels, because the gpu and monitor have internal scalers\mixers
Try multiples of 8 like 1368x768. If that doesn't work, there's no way to force a monitor to accept a resolution. Some monitors will accept TV resolutions like 1920x1080, but there's no guarantee a monitor will accept higher than native resolutions.

If the USB-C port supports DisplayPort output and the monitor has DisplayPort input, then it should be possible with a simple USB-C to DisplayPort cable.

On the newest nvidia driver with the newest cru, the display settings area in nvidia control panel is hidden after making changes and restarting.
There are a few things I was using cru for, but the main ones are removing the useless 4096x2160 resolution that shows up on all 4k tvs, as it messes up a few things, and enabling 24 bit pcm audio, since things get confused when I passthough from my tv to my receiver.
I haven't heard of this happening. Sounds like a driver bug to me. Export a file with the changes you made and post it here.
As I was messing around with my XL2430 timings, I tested the absolute lowest values for the timings so I could squeeze the highest refresh rate, but I encountered some weird behaviors in the way.
First, I copied Falkentyne blanking timings from somewhere else to use in my monitor and my previous W2363D settings for the porchs and sync widths.
Front porch 24 | 3
Sync Width 32 | 5
Back porch 8 | 6
Blanking 58 | 10
I couldn't reduce the blanking timings further, so I think Falkentyne found the lowest possible values, therefore I changed the porchs and sync widths and found stability in these values.
Front porch 18 | 1
Sync Width 32 | 2
Back porch 8 | 6
Blanking 58 | 10
Then, I left the computer to do something else and when I came back, the computer wouldn't wake up, making me force power off. Because of that, I changed the porch value (I don't really know what was the culprit though).

Blanking 58 | 10
This never happened again, however sometimes the DCC/CI wouldn't work. When this happened, softMCCS reported "Not supported (missing DPtx services)".
1. Could timing parameters influence the wake up of Windows?
2. Is the DCC/CI behavior related to the timing parameters?

Im not sure either i used to have the 144hz option too but its missing as well. Isnt it weird that even after adding the detailed resolution from cru the 165 hz option is missing?
Hey again thanks for always responding. Quick question. Do you know if it is HDMI 2.1a that is giving me a way better color gradient with my LG oled 27inch. People with 40 series video cards with HDMI 2.1a are all saying this and 30 series users with just regular HDMI 2.1 are not. Do you know which part of that is whats giving it that much better image?
