CRU doesn't deal with scaling. That's up to the monitor or the GPU if GPU scaling is enabled.

Try deleting the 3840x2160 TV resolutions. It's probably using the highest resolution available instead of the native resolution.

Won't this prevent me from enjoying these resolutions on my 4K tv if I play on it via my pc, won't the signal be degraded or lost if I remove them?

What are you using to play it on the TV? Is it streaming software or a direct connection?

If it's a direct connection, each monitor has its own settings, so that wouldn't affect the TV.

If it's streaming software and you're playing at 4K on the PC, then it should stream 4K to the TV.

If it's streaming software and you're playing at 2560x1440, then it will probably be scaled on the TV.

It's a direct connection, via HDMI from my pc to the TV screen.
My TV screen doesn't have a displayport,
This is rare and depends on the game.
Most of the time, I use the Asus monitor for games, displayport only.

Like I said, you need to enable GPU scaling because the laptop screen doesn't have a scaler and can't display non-native resolutions.

That's normal with GPU scaling.

Hello I have two 27 inch screens, one in 2560*1440, the other in 1920*1080.
I want to put both in 2560*1440 format. From my personal PC, with Nvdia, I manage to force the 2560*1440 format on the second (only the format, not the real resolution which is materially limited).
It works well. But for work, I use the same screens but with another PC that doesn't have an nvdia card.
I tried to set 2560*1440 on CRU, but I have a message on the screen telling me that it "cannot display this video mode, change computer display input to 1920*1080".

Do you have an idea ?

Is it, by any chance, possible to somehow force half-vsync in games via CRU?

I've an old AMD GPU (R9-380X) and, for some reason or another, it doesn't support half-vsync i.e 30FPS/60Hz even though pretty much all Nvidia GPUs have that option.

Since CRU is such a powerful utility with so many options available (most of which I don't understand, quite frankly), I was wondering if it's possible to somehow enable half-vsync with it.

I did try underclocking my monitor (Asus VH222) but it just bottoms out at 41Hz + I don't really want to use 30Hz, for one reason: Stuttering.

If the game skips a frame at 30Hz, the GPU will have to wait for the next refresh cycle and that means the delay can be as long as 33.33ms. Whereas with 60Hz, that wait time can be at most 16.66ms.

But if half-vsync isn't an option then do tell me how I can run my panel at 30Hz. I'd take any potential stuttering over uneven frame pacing and motion judders any day!
