Why are NVIDIA users so obsessed with display scaling? If the monitor can't display the resolution correctly, just use SRE and GPU scaling. Don't make simple things so complicated.

SRE has nothing to do with that discussion though.

I'm saying use SRE to add the resolution you want and you'll get all the refresh rates working correctly with GPU scaling. Much simpler.

So I used this tool on my friends monitor he uses some Samsung Odyssey monitor that is 240 hz no curved. I used CRU and did Restart64, the screen went into standby mode and didn't turn on, we tried resetting the monitors settings, pressing keys on the keyboard and mouse, unplugging and replugging in the cables. And none of that worked. Also he uses HDMI if that is significant.

You didn't explain what you did in CRU.

Boot Windows in safe mode and run reset-all.exe.

Hello it's my first post here.

I got a Lenovo Ideapad 5 Pro Laptop with a native resolution of 2880*1800 at 120hz. The processor is an AMD API Ryzen 7 7840HS, 780m IGPU. All i want to do is halving the native resolution to 1440*900.

Now to my issue. No matter what I do on CRU, my display becomes extreme glitchy and is no way usable. I've tried everything (changing timing, refresh etc.) but that doesn't help at all. Even using SRE doesn't give me the option for 900p. Is there any trick that I don't know? I wouldn't mind native 1800p with a render res slider but some games doesn't even support that at all.

Any help or info would he appreciated.

Digitech, what you're basically asking here is "how do I make a custom resolution" which means you haven't read the first page of this thread.

So basically, you're just asking people to do everything for you, to walk you through every step, which is not cool

Learn how to use the software on basic level, THEN if you have problems, you can ask for help by asking SPECIFIC questions

Anyway, I'm a big CRT user, I used to have a HD CRT from Sony.

960x540 @ 60hz (33.75kHz horizontal approximately) will work well over the component input. Which has been discussed ad nauseum on places like Shmups forum and (in the past) AVS Forum, if you need more information

Don't make 1440x900 in CRU, make in SRE, then restart, then enable GPU scaling, then enable integer scaling.

But really, I wouldn't use that very much if I were you, it's pretty pointless. 1800p is a very high resolution, and non-integer scaling will look fine (1600p, 1440p, 960p, whatever), even if the game doesn't have built in scaling functionality
