Just uninstalled the old driver and installed the new one. Same thing. It's either resolution or audio

Does that happen with any resolution? I noticed you were trying 1600x1200, which has more lines than 1920x1080. Try 1440x1080 since that's also 4:3, and check if turning GPU scaling on/off makes any difference.

I just checked with a Radeon 4200 and you're right. Any change disables audio. I know what triggers the problem, but I don't know why the driver behaves that way. It might be a driver bug because that only happens with older GPUs.

Run reset-all.exe first and restart. Then you should be able to add resolutions without affecting audio.
The driver has another bug with older GPUs where custom resolutions are not available after waking up from sleep. Restarting the driver makes the resolutions available again.

It's strange, cause when I enter "Help" tab I can see advanced options explained.
And yes, I have the latest drivers installed, I'll try to reinstall them.
Edit: Ok, I've connected external display, and I am able to create a custom resolution for it (I can use advanced settings). It seems that my in-built display is locked or something.

That helped. THANK YOU! This CRU is not affecting the audio (we are almost there). But now there is a different problem. When I want to turn the TV on/off or when switching HDMI 1-> HDMI 2 etc (my TV has 4 of them) with remote control, both screens (TV and monitor) are refreshing twice and a message pops up:

And here's what happens when watching the video. When the screens refresh the movie is not full screen any more. There is a black bar on the right side which cuts something like 1/4 of the movie. You know they say that the picture=1000 words. I think the video is even better ;}. So here is another short one.

I don't really care about that since I have a desktop and it never sleeps
I used the CRU utility to change the refresh rate and at 75 it works great. But the desktop resolution downscales. My monitor's original resolution is 1600x900. I set the CRU resolution to 1600x900 @75hz but when I apply it in Windows Resolution settings the desktop resolution downscales. But, in games it keeps the 1600x900 resolution. Please help.

I've got a Dell U2713HM connected by HDMI to a laptop with an AMD HD8730M graphics chip which runs alongside an Intel HD Graphics 4000 chip.
I'd previously got the monitor working in 2560x1440 mode (at 30Hz) with Windows 8 64 bit, using the Custom Resolutions in Catalyst Control Center. However after upgrading to Windows 8.1 the resolution went back to 1920x1080 and there were no custom resolutions available.
I went round in circles upgrading the Catalyst Control Center drivers to the latest 13.9 then Beta 13.11 and using the CRU utility to add the extra resolutions but no luck.
I finally downgraded the Intel HD 4000 driver from I think a V10 one dated 30/8/13 to a V9.17.10.2867 one dated 26/9/12
After doing this and rebooting a different Intel Graphics control center was displayed which allowed custom resolutions to be entered. I re-entered my 2560x1440 one and it now works perfectly.

Anyone here able to achieve 2560x1440@60Hz with Dell U2713HM or U2713H, or... similar price range monitor via HDMI?
I've got Sony Vaio Flip15A with internal display 1920x1080 and Intel HD Graphics 4400 Optimus + NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 735M 2GB. Only HDMI output available, highspeed HDMI cable used. I was able to enter custom resolution 2560x1440@60Hz, but monitor displayed message, that it is not supported resolution, then only 2560x1440@41Hz worked. But it doesn't look good (not sharp, eyes hurt) So I'm wondering if there is some other way to set this up.

That happens because your TV stops transmitting the EDID when turning it off or switching inputs, so it's like the TV is disconnecting. I guess at some point when the TV disconnects, the driver is assuming you're using an HDMI-DVI cable, but if that's not causing problems, then just check "Don't display this message again" to ignore it.

That's an issue with the video player not handling the resolution changes properly when the TV disconnects. Does that happen with the latest version of VLC?
Some people with a media center setup use a device like the
HDMI Detective to trick the video card into thinking the TV is always connected to avoid problems like this.
Anyone having issues with the qnix2710 and the latest nvidia drivers? I can't seem to OC for the life of me. No experience installed, drivers patched, 96 or 120 won't show up in select- able resolutions.
