Yes it's a driver bug because the driver should not hang no matter what. I just don't know what is triggering the bug. Simply changing the hard drive to SSD should not cause this, so something else is different.

When connecting via VGA, I remembered that it also worked badly, there is a slight rain on the screen.
I want to ask you two last questions:

1 does it make sense to use a HDMI-VGA signal converter? Could it solve the problem that I can't solve with cru? (it doesn't matter if it looks like VGA and not HDMI).

2 another possibility, if I use a VGA-HDMI converter, could it improve the problem of rain on the screen?

For some reason I got 4:2:2 displayport r9 290 3840x2160 60hz 6bpc & I need to know about the pixel patcher 340mhz, i set everything and still only 34.5hz max 3840x2160.

Need advice on 3840x2160 60hz 4:2:2 6bpc, displayport configuration, how do I configure it to display the 6bpc?

I have no idea what you're saying. You're not making any sense. You said you got 60 Hz but then you say you only got 34.5 Hz max, which wouldn't be a DisplayPort limit, and the patcher does nothing for DisplayPort. DisplayPort 1.2 can already do 3840x2160 @ 60 Hz at 8 bpc with 4:4:4 chroma, but last we spoke, your display doesn't have DisplayPort, so how are you using DisplayPort? You shouldn't need to configure anything to use 6 bpc because DisplayPort would automatically use 6 bpc if bandwidth were limited.

HDMI to VGA (motherboard to TV) might have a clearer signal, and you wouldn't need to use CRU because VGA on your TV doesn't have the same issues. VGA to HDMI wouldn't make sense to do if the VGA port on the motherboard is noisy.

Allow me to rephrase. Okay so I bought a 4k60 displayport display, only 8bpc still showing up in radeon settings, max 4k30hz on r9 290 just like hdmi.

How do I set 6bpc in the registry for my new displayport, display?

On a side note about "HDMI 1.4a", how do I get more than 300mhz if i use the patcher and set 340mhz, still nothing more than 300mhz. Which configuration & driver is recommended for 340mhz hdmi operation if my displayport display isn't going to work out?

I have the knowledge of how to edit the video bios pixel clock, which would it be?

What model is the display? What is the exact GPU you have? The R9 290 should support DisplayPort 1.2 up to 600 MHz pixel clock, which is enough for 3840x2160 @ 60 Hz at 8 bpc with 4:4:4 chroma, so either you don't have an R9 290, or something is not working correctly because this should work out of the box. You shouldn't need to set 6 bpc, and the option should be available if your GPU supports it.

The R9 290 never supported more than 297 MHz pixel clock with HDMI. The patcher will allow you to go up to 400 MHz, but the signal might not be stable or usable at all. I don't see a reason to use HDMI with your GPU if the display has DisplayPort because even DisplayPort 1.0 supports up to 360 MHz pixel clock with 8 bpc and 480 MHz pixel clock with 6 bpc, which is better than HDMI 1.4. The only exception is 3840x2160 @ 60 Hz with YCbCr 4:2:0, which should automatically work with HDMI if your GPU supported it.

The pixel clock limit is usually in the driver. You shouldn't need to mess with the video BIOS for this to work.
Hello, I need help choosing a cable for an external monitor with the most optimal standard possible (monitor connected to the HP EliteBook 845 G8 AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 5650U laptop). My current HDMI-HDMI cable supports a 165 Hz monitor at a maximum of 144 Hz at 1080p resolution and max 67Hz at second 1440p monitor Lenovo L27q-10 (overclocked by CRU).

As for the connectors in this laptop, from what I've read here, it seems to be HDMI 2.0, as well as 2 USB-C ports with DP 1.4 support - I don't know if this laptop has DisplayPort Alt Mode?

I would like to buy a cable that will allow me to connect a 1440p monitor supporting 165Hz refresh and more to this laptop (and PC) in the future. Which cable is best to choose in such a situation?

USB-C to DisplayPort should work.

My laptop's specification says "2 USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4);" does this mean that the laptop supports Display Port Alt Mode and any DP 1.4 -> USB-C cable will support 240Hz at 1440p resolution? (AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 5650U)

And is there a chance that with the new DP->USBC cable on the external Lenovo L27q-10 monitor I will achieve a higher refresh rate of 1440p in CRU than the current 67 Hz? Currently at 68Hz a message pops up to reduce the refresh rate.

Below are my current settings in CRU, are these the best possible settings? I use the "CVT-RB standard" timing on all resolutions.
