That's because you're creating a GPU-scaled resolution, so the active resolution doesn't actually change. You could do the same by enabling GPU scaling or by using SRE to add 3824x2151:

Sorry if it's offtop, I'm trying to understand whether the cable complies with the hdmi 2.1 standard or not, I can set 2k 240hz 12bit color with dsc, but without dsc the limitation is 2k 200hz 8bit, am I right in understanding that hdmi 2.1 should be able to handle 2k 240 without dsc?(stock edid on screenshot)

HDMI 2.1 is designed to handle several rates, and a display is not required to support the maximum rate. HDMI 2.1 can handle 2560x1440 @ 240 Hz at 12 bpc without DSC, but the maximum FRL rate defined by your monitor is 24 Gbps. 2560x1440 @ 240 Hz requires the 32 Gbps FRL rate for 8 bpc and 48 Gbps for 12 bpc, so this is a limitation of your monitor.

got it, thx vm, I just initially thought that it could be similar to pci lines, that is, they cannot be increased programmatically. So I will contact support.

yeah i've been using it for years but now that i have a 1080ti just 4 slots on detailed and 4 slots on extension block is too little considering i need to clone the interlaced resolution to the progressive version for it to show up, 480i 120hz isnt showing up when made on the extension block so i gotta try in detailed list.

The detailed resolutions in CTA-861 and VTB-EXT extension blocks are the same as the ones in the base EDID in the main window. There's no way to add more detailed resolutions in the base EDID, but you can add more extension blocks. Each extension block can hold up to 6 detailed resolutions, and you can add up to 7 extension blocks. You only need the HDMI data blocks in the first extension block.
