Are you sure it used to be visible for the same monitor? It doesn't make sense for the EDID to change between driver versions. I found a Linux kernel issue for the same monitor where 240 Hz wasn't detected for the same reason because the data block wasn't supported yet, which means it should have always been like that. I will have to add support for that data block at some point.

It seems that only the G80SD is unable to have its EDID read. Sorry for the confusion.

Hello, I'm going to be straight up here and exclaim that I don't understand what most of the comments here are explaining. For example, I don't really understand what an edid is.
I've got a conferencing TV that doesn't show up as supporting anything more than 4k30 through both HDMI and displayport. The built in OPS (basically a computer that you slide into the TV) is the only thing that has full 4k60 support. I've been able to use CRU to change the detailed resolution to 4k60hz while using displayport (haven't tested HDMI), but recently, it went back to 4k30 (maybe a driver update) and I haven't been able to figure out how to change it back. My preferences seem to change within CRU even after I restart graphics drivers and stuff, but the option for 60hz doesn't appear in windows settings.
Some more things I tried
Inside the CTA-861 extension block, I clicked on TV resolutions and added a 4k60 detailed resolution at the top of the window. Then, I went to TV Resolutions and deleted all the existing 4k resolutions, then added one at 60hz. Under HDMI support, then under HDMI Resolutions, I cannot select 4k at 60hz. It only goes up to 30hz, even after changing Maximum TMDS Clock to 600mhz from 300 (not actually sure what this does unfourtantly)
Am I supposed to change the TV's Device ID to something else? Any other tips? Thank you in advance

EDID is the information sent by the monitor to the computer to describe its capabilities. CRU lets you edit the EDID and save it as a software override. If a resolution or refresh rate doesn't show up in the Windows display settings, then the graphics driver is rejecting it for some reason, usually because of bandwidth limitations. If it worked before, then something must have changed with the graphics driver, or in DisplayPort's case, a bad cable could be causing it to negotiate a lower rate. 3840x2160 @ 60 Hz would require DisplayPort 1.2 HBR2 (high bit rate 2) or HDMI 2.0. I would need to know the TV and GPU to find out what they support.

Followed this guide to get to play dolby vision files on my pc, all working well, but when I create a custom resolution using pixel clock calculator for 23.976hz, dolby vision files wont play on my tv, if i disable the custom resolution i can play them again
I get an error in media player "we cant find audio playback device", this is if i activate hdmi 2.1 in cru, if i leave it at 2.0 the video playback starts, but theres no audio.

Thanks! I was using pixel clock calculator but it always gave me this error.. I went to MADVR and used the optimisation function and I found the the best modes.for my pc/avr/tv, basically 0 dropped frames.
My question is, I have an Oled tv, I did remove the TV resolutions and I keep only the detailed ones for 59.94hz and 23.976hz. Can removing the tv resolutions make the picture worse?
Hi, maybe someone can share the EDID for the Odyssey OLED G6 G61SD monitor.
I think I found a way to disable DSC on Samsung G6 monitors, but I'm running into a problem with the 360Hz display on the G60SD.
Everything works fine at 240Hz, but some games force 360Hz in full-screen mode, which causes freezing and a black screen. So, you have to launch them first in normal monitor mode, switch to windowed mode, return to DSR mode, and then change the settings as needed.
I need the EDID for the G61SD with Adaptive sync enabled and VRR disabled in the monitor settings.
This problem can be solved through the registry using the instructions in the profile header, but I would like to get by with just the EDID.

Try disabling and then enabling the sound device in Device Manager.

It can't be automated with CRU. It would need to be something like restart.exe but for audio drivers. It might be possible with a batch file and pnputil:
