I copy this bin file to another laptop and import it into CRU there. I now expect to see an additional entry for the imported bin file in the drop-down box at the very top. However, there isn’t one. Have I misunderstood how CRU works, or has something else gone wrong? There was no error message during the import.
Import imports into the currently selected display.

ok, but then the import is only partial, because the name in the dropdown box does not change.
Is there any way to use cru to force a laptop to use an EDID in a file taken from another laptop instead of the EEPROM information?

Use the "Import complete EDID" check box.
Hi, I'm trying to set up a custom resolution for a 3024x5120 (10k) monochrome transparent lcd - these screens are built for 3dprinters but I'm attempting to use this one in a photographic enlarger. I have some parameters (for rasberry pi setup, in chinese :/) from the manufacturer, and I have managed in the past to get a similar screen working - but I can't seem to make this one work. My machine has APU
AMD Radeon 760M Graphics.
I'm not at all experienced with setting this stuff up - so probably I have made a simple error or misunderstood how it's supposed to work Wink Any assistance wouldbe greatly appreciated.

manufacturer setup:

what I'm attempting in CRU DisplayId 1.3 extension block:
[attachment=1660]

I'm pretty sure the other screen worked fine after I set up this DisplayId 1.3 extension block:

Thanks, David.
…and I managed to get it working - multiple resets and reboots and finally it worked Smile

That's why I'm looking for the EDID from the younger version of the monitor. I could buy a new 240 hertz monitor for this and then return it to the store, but in my opinion that would be disrespectful.
I don't know what you're doing. If EDID overrides are being ignored, another EDID won't help unless you're using a hardware EDID emulator. If EDID overrides are not being ignored, then you can just delete 360 Hz using CRU.

I don't quite understand what you mean, in my case, switching between monitor modes has different edids, and I can change the edid, but no changes are applied, but if I load an edid from another mode into one mode, everything works, but still manual editing has no result

Recently I again took some time to avoid the DSC problem.

So, I managed to achieve my goal, and even a little more, and I'm sure I did something wrong, but it works.

I have one question, can you tell me what FAPA start location is responsible for?
(03-24-2026 03:48 AM)SadMan Wrote: [ -> ]I have one question, can you tell me what FAPA start location is responsible for?
FAPA is the frame accurate packet area. If not set, the FAPA starts after the last line of active pixels in a frame. If set, the FAPA starts after the first line of active pixels in a frame. I'm not sure what the real world difference is other than setting it would allow more metadata to be transmitted.
ToastyX,

Can you PLEASE help me fix my SWTOR stretch issue? I am using a G9 Samsung Odyssey on a Windows 11 machine. Its killing me because I've tried EVERY fix you have posted on this forum and i'm either not doing it right or it just don't work. Please assist, I'm available for Discord calls as well as on here or via email.

This issue is plaguing me on SWTOR and Fallout 76. I've tried adding the 1520x1440 resolution but it just won't take it.
Hello, new user here, hoping to find a solution to my problem...

I play Elite Dangerous, which have a notorious issue with antialiasing not working, hence I'm trying to make it work with DLDSR on my 3090 on a LCPower monitor, 1440p 165hz, Gsync compatible (it's a Freesync monitor, manufactured in 2024/2025).

My issue is, the DLDSR resolution is fixed at 60 hz, I'm very susceptible to refresh and have a hard time playing at below 100hz...

I tried using CRU after reading online, and removing the 3840x2160@60hz tv resolution in the extension block, under CTA-861 "kinda" works... the DLDSR 2.25x resolution in the nvidia control panel magically changes from 5760x3240@60hz to 3480x2160 and I can now set it to 165hz, but the real issue is that gsync stops working completely as soon as I touch ANYTHING inside CRU...

It doesn't break only in Elite, it's system wide, to troubleshoot I used the Gsync Pendulum demo and everytime I touch something inside CRU, the Pendulum demo doesn't let me enable Gsync anymore, until I use reset.exe from CRU to restore the driver, and that fixes Gsync but gets me back to square one, with 60hz on DLDRS.

I tried various "guides" for example one suggesting removing all standard resolutions alongside all the detailed resolutions from the extension block, nothing seems to work, gsync breaks every time until I use reset.exe from CRU...

I tried the search in the forum but I didn't find any post explaining exactly what is happening or how to achieve what I need, that being Gsync working on a DLDSR resolution at above 100hz (I would be fine even with 100hz, but if possible 120 or even my native 165 would be the best)

I hope not to upset you guys if somehow this question has already been asked/answered, as I said I tried my best with searching in the forum and on google, I had no luck, I swear it's been months that I've been trying to make it work and only today I realized how the gsync was breaking, and that was by me thinkering with CRU... I really am not tech savvy enough to really know what I'm doing, but I really would love to understand what's happening and if possible how to solve the issues Sad

Thanks in advance to anyone that will try to help!

I haven't heard of that happening before. Using CRU should not break G-SYNC, so I'm not sure what the issue could be. Make sure the range limits are included and showing in the detailed resolution list in the main window, and make sure the range includes 165 Hz.
