This issue is plaguing me on SWTOR and Fallout 76. I've tried adding the 1520x1440 resolution but it just won't take it.
What is the issue?

The issue is two fold:

1.) The game SWTOR stretches when I put it on 5120x1440 for my Samsung Odyssey monitor.

2.) I tried using the CRU option but it won't let me add the resolution 5120x1440 manually.

Isn't the G9 already 5120x1440? What do you mean it won't let you add the resolution?

(04-03-2026 10:41 PM)KalidhoS Wrote: [ -> ]Hello, new user here, hoping to find a solution to my problem...

I play Elite Dangerous, which have a notorious issue with antialiasing not working, hence I'm trying to make it work with DLDSR on my 3090 on a LCPower monitor, 1440p 165hz, Gsync compatible (it's a Freesync monitor, manufactured in 2024/2025).

My issue is, the DLDSR resolution is fixed at 60 hz, I'm very susceptible to refresh and have a hard time playing at below 100hz...

I tried using CRU after reading online, and removing the 3840x2160@60hz tv resolution in the extension block, under CTA-861 "kinda" works... the DLDSR 2.25x resolution in the nvidia control panel magically changes from 5760x3240@60hz to 3480x2160 and I can now set it to 165hz, but the real issue is that gsync stops working completely as soon as I touch ANYTHING inside CRU...

It doesn't break only in Elite, it's system wide, to troubleshoot I used the Gsync Pendulum demo and everytime I touch something inside CRU, the Pendulum demo doesn't let me enable Gsync anymore, until I use reset.exe from CRU to restore the driver, and that fixes Gsync but gets me back to square one, with 60hz on DLDRS.

I tried various "guides" for example one suggesting removing all standard resolutions alongside all the detailed resolutions from the extension block, nothing seems to work, gsync breaks every time until I use reset.exe from CRU...

I tried the search in the forum but I didn't find any post explaining exactly what is happening or how to achieve what I need, that being Gsync working on a DLDSR resolution at above 100hz (I would be fine even with 100hz, but if possible 120 or even my native 165 would be the best)

I hope not to upset you guys if somehow this question has already been asked/answered, as I said I tried my best with searching in the forum and on google, I had no luck, I swear it's been months that I've been trying to make it work and only today I realized how the gsync was breaking, and that was by me thinkering with CRU... I really am not tech savvy enough to really know what I'm doing, but I really would love to understand what's happening and if possible how to solve the issues Sad

Thanks in advance to anyone that will try to help!
I haven't heard of that happening before. Using CRU should not break G-SYNC, so I'm not sure what the issue could be. Make sure the range limits are included and showing in the detailed resolution list in the main window, and make sure the range includes 165 Hz.

Hi Toasty, thank you so much for your quick reply!!!
I will include a screenshot of what CRU shows me, and as you can see I don't see my native resolution 2560x1440@165Hz anywhere, let alone in the detailed resolution list in the main window that you mentioned!

Detailed resolution - main window

I tried adding it manually but the only way it seems to be allowed is by using "the Exact Reduced" option, but seeing the pixel clock at 650,76 Mhz... I don't know is it too high?

Pixel Clock

as I said I'm not an expert by any means, all these numbers feel daunting to me and I'm afraid to mess something up and break something...

Thanks again for any further help!!

And Happy Holidays!

You don't need to add 2560x1440 @ 165 Hz. It should already be in the DisplayID extension block. I'm talking about the range limits. Use the "Edit..." button at the very top and include the range limits. Normally it's included by default with FreeSync/G-SYNC monitors, but it seems this monitor didn't define the range limits in the typical way.

Toasty, why do you keep asking me the issue when I keep explaining it. If you're trying to tell me that you want a different way of saying, please tell me so. I don't know what I'm saying wrong that you're not getting. I'm trying to get my SWTOR to display properly on my Samsung Odyssey. When I use CRU, I am not able to add the 5120x1440 resolution like I need to. It shows in red letters; can you tell me what i'm doing wrong?

Well first, I only asked once. You're replying again to the first reply. Second, you didn't really provide any details. This is the first time you mentioned red letters. You said you tried EVERY fix, yet the first post clearly states "EDID detailed resolutions are limited to 4095x4095 and 655.35 MHz pixel clock. If a value turns red, that means it's invalid or out of limits. Use a DisplayID extension block to add resolutions with higher limits." Third, I asked if the G9 is already 5120x1440 because there's no point in adding the native resolution when the monitor already defines it, but you didn't answer that.

If the game is displaying a resolution incorrectly, that's a game issue, not a resolution issue. I'm not familiar with SWTOR or with what issues it has, so I had to look it up. Someone mentioned you have to edit the "%LocalAppData%\SWTOR\swtor\settings" file and set the Width and NativeWidth values to 5120, the Height and NativeHeight values to 1440, and the RefreshRate to half of your desktop frequency (240 Hz = 120).

Hi again Toasty, and thank you again for your help!
I tried what you suggested:

Added Range limits

unfortunately the DLDSR resolution still is locked to 60 or 59hz...
And I confirm the resolution 2560x1440@165 is as you said inside the DisplayID Extension block, both in DisplayID 1.3 and 1.2:

DisplayID

I look forward to any more suggestion, but I'd like to add that adding the range limits DID NOT have any impact on Gsync, it's still working perfectly fine

Thanks again! Hope to hear from you soon <3

You still have to delete any higher resolutions such as 3840x2160 @ 60 Hz as you mentioned before because NVIDIA's driver will try to use the highest resolution for DLDSR. The range limits is to make sure G-SYNC still works.

You are SO THE BEST!!!!!

It all works perfectly now, finally DLDSR is working at 165hz, AND with Gsync!!!

I cannot thank you enough, your help was so invaluable, your directions where super easy to follow and your quickness in replying even during the holidays is just mindblowing!!!

I wish you all the best in everything, because you so deserve it! <3
Hi all.

I have an MSI GF75 Thin 9SC with Intel UHD Graphics 630 and NVidia GeForce GTX 1650.

Also I have an Dell S2721DS monitor connected via HDMI. Laptop doesn't have DP or USB-C with video.

The problem? This monitor supports 2K 75Hz but the native config on EDID uses more than 300MHz pixel clock (304.25MHz). Due to this high clock, 75Hz option doesn't appears on screen config.

In the past, I managed to make it work on my Win10 and my Ubuntu, getting blank reduced configs and using CRU (on win) to add new modes. So far so good, I've used the monitor on 2K 75Hz for years without any problem.

I have recently upgraded to Win11 2025H2... and all the problems appeared.

I managed to create working modes on CRU, and they work very well... until screen goes off (stand by). Once screens fade out... you can hear repetitive sounds (device disconecction sounds)... and once you resume monitors... 75Hz option is gone!

I have tried several ways to solve it without sucess... I know that the problem is that Win11 is harder on HDMI handshake, and when the screen goes black... it takes EDID from monitor and it sees that working resolution is not on EEPROM EDID and fails.

So, what can I do to solve this?

The only ways I think it can work are:

- EDID Emulators.
- Extract working EDID from CRU (to .bin) and create an inf with Monitor Asset Manager (Moninfo). Once installed it should avoid EDID extraction from EEPROM and work... but maybe it will be hard to install on Win11 due to digital signature.
- Modify EDID on monitor replacing 2K 75Hz with a working mode.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance and regards.
