Quote:Alternative method for Intel GPUs:

If you have an older Intel GPU, use the "Export..." button and choose "EXE file" for the file type to export a self-contained EDID override installer. Then run the .exe file and choose "Install EDID" to install the EDID override on all matching displays.

I'll try, but... Generated .exe is an installable, or something that I have to load every time I boot on windows?
It installs an EDID override and includes an Intel-specific method. You don't need to load it every time.

You don't need to write to it. Just use CRU with it connected. Since the connection won't drop, there shouldn't be any handshake issues.

Well, IDK why but right now is working fine without EDID emulator. It only makes some disconnection-reconection sound after several minutes (it doesn't follow any recongniced pattern) but the best: it's keeping the 75Hz config.

IDK if is due to the .exe exported EDID or why but seems to work fine.

The clue is that RBT-v2 config includes a non-exact pixel clock, and I've down-rouded it to a known fractional freq (.25) that I know that is good for my screen (because other freq. in the EDID use that fraction). If I put the original pixel clock (299.42) the problems arise again with multiple disconnection sounds on power saving and configuration is gone sooner or later.

As you comment, wiht the EDID emultor you don't need to reprogram it... CRU works fine with it without any handshake problems... but with it I lost DDC/CI comunication (because Dell Display Manager don't work as it doesn't recognize the monitor, EDID Emulator has another Hardware ID).

Thanks so much for your answers and for your hard work.
1.5.3 version broke my LG G5.
I only changed TMDS value and restarted the driver now cant run the tv at 165hz not working.

TMDS value would not affect anything. The G5 uses FRL unless your GPU is limited to HDMI 2.0, in which case the driver would not allow more than 600 Mcsc anyway. Just run reset-all.exe and restart to remove the EDID override.
So I was looking to get true streched res on Valorant and I tried to make a resolution on CRU since I am on a laptop. However, my resolution with 165Hz does not show up on CRU. It only shows 1440p at 60Hz, and my actual resolution is listed under Display ID1.3 in Extension Blocks. However, if I try to add a streched res there, Valorant completely glitches out and does not work. Any ideas on what the issue might be?

Laptop displays don't have scalers and can only display the native resolution, so you have to use GPU scaling.
Hello, I have the following problem: I own a 55-inch Phillips TV that fell over, and about 15.2 cm on the right side at the edge of the screen isn’t working. I’m wondering if I can use CRU.exe to create a custom resolution, such as 3360x2160 with left alignment, to solve the problem and use my 55-inch TV as a 50-inch monitor. Thanks in advance for your time!

There's no way to align the image. The best you can do is center the image, but then you lose the left side as well.
Hi, experienced used here. I miss Block0 display H&V size fields (00H), as well as individual DTD H&V size. I'm tweaking a stock projector EDID that has (0,0) size display and (0,0) individual DTDs. When exporting out of CRU, all DTDs are written 480x300 image size (WUXGA). These conflict with display 0x0 image size, and get wrong validation from linux tools such as edid-editor. I'd also wish that display Name was imported when importing .bin edids, because it gets replaced by the actual Windows display. I also miss Block0 Feature Support included sRGB field.

Finally, I wish CRU fixed the checksums when exporting. It seems it doesn't when importing a wrong checksum edid and exporting again.

I know CRU is a Custom Resolution oriented utility, but since it is the most popular EDID editor I wish it grew full capability. Thanks for reading and for maintenance over the years.

CRU does import the name if you select "Import complete EDID" when importing. CRU does fix the checksums when exporting. The only time it doesn't is if you haven't made any changes, but importing is supposed to count as a change.

Also I have a work in progress version lets you edit more of the EDID including the image size and sRGB fields: https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Threa...n-Progress

In the new version, importing will always import the complete EDID, but the extension block checksums are not fixed until you edit them and click OK (you don't have to make a change). The goal of the new version is to preserve everything that hasn't been edited, so in the future I might have it display the checksum with a fix button. Some features are not complete yet like listing block sizes, and I haven't fully tested it.
Greetings, i have somewhat of an odd issue i think.
CRU works perfectly fine on my other 2 monitors.
On my main one however, no matter what i change (even if its just by 1 blanking or removing an unused resolution) after i click restart my windows freezes and i can hear the plug in and out sound very often without breaks.
The only fix is to boot into safe mode and reset the settings.
Its strange, because it used to work just fine.
To rule out any OS issues i have switched my install and tested it on w11 which behaves exactly the same.
Its annoying, because without editing the blanking my vram doesnt clock down.
Im on nvidia if that helps, never had issues on AMD when it came to editing my main monitor with CRU.
Thank you for any suggestions, cheers.
