Hello. I have a laptop HP Elitebook 645 G11 with this monitor: LGD0791.
I can only see 60hz available listed on Windows 11 settings, also internet search tells me the manufacturer (LG) lists only 60hz as product specification.
I can only change to 40hz if I use Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) and set up a custom resolution with 40hz, but I am afraid to use it like this long term as I don't want to damage the screen permanently. Is there any possibility that the screen might be damaged if I lower the refresh rate and use it like this? I am fan of this refresh rate, but if it means to stess/strain the monitor then I won't use it.
I have found a PDF with info about the panel and uploaded it with this post. Could you take a look>

Please provide me with insight, thank you and happy holidays!
I don't imagine a lower refresh rate would cause any problems.
Thank you for your reply ToastyX. I have been waiting someone to answer me. I was concerned about lowering the refresh rate, because it wasn't mentioned by the manufacturer. I have another question now - what if I download a software program like f.lux to lower the brightness below the usual that can be done with Windows 11 settings - could dimming the screen more than recommended damage it? Thank you.
f.lux doesn't change the brightness in the hardware, so it wouldn't affect the screen.
Thank you for your reply ToastyX!
