Rather as a newbie do not want to spoil the CRU main topic and also as an non English speaker I have difficulties in reading all that!! So I want to put in a separate question.

My monitor is a Dell U2711 2560x1440 resolution monitor and according to Catalyst the maximum Hz seems to be 75Hz but this is only at 1280x1080 at 2560x1440 this is forced to 60Hz.
Because I like to disable Vsync in a game [Vsync = for avoid screen tearing] I like to force the monitor to 75Hz at 2560x1440. My Vcard is the AMD HD7970

Is this possible to force to 75Hz at 2560x1440 and without damaging the monitor???

It won't damage the monitor, but the U2711 can't handle higher refresh rates properly. It will skip frames, making motion worse.

I made CRU because I needed the ability to set the timing parameters to get higher refresh rates on LCD monitors. CRU creates EDID overrides that also work with NVIDIA, and it can be used to force games to use a higher refresh rate by making it the first detailed resolution.

CRM adds standard resolutions using an AMD-specific method, but it doesn't have a way to set the timing parameters. It's not likely to work for higher refresh rates at the native resolution, but it can be used to add lower resolutions.

So resume: despite my monitor seems to be capable to run at 75hz at a 1280x1080max and 60hz at 2560x1440 it is not an improvement to force this to 75hz on a 2560x1440 resolution???

Does it not skip frames at lower resolutions? It should be noticeable just by moving the mouse cursor.

No I see no difference when moving the mouse, but strangely I see also no difference in the quality of the screen.
I know from CRT monitors, if checking the screen from 60 to 75 or 85, you would notice that, [especially from high to low Hz], but here I notice not any improvement.
