Quote:I installed "Strobelight Beta 3 by ToastyX" (checked 120 and 121 Hz, it was checked by default), copied "strobelight.exe" to autoload folder, reloaded computer. After reload I see window with label "No strobed refresh rates found"
Only temporary solution i have is - delete lightboost > reboot > install lightboost > reboot. and it will work until i reboot one more time.
That doesn't make sense. Reinstalling wouldn't do anything different. Are the installed refresh rates available in the Windows screen resolution settings?

No, not really. That's more of an issue with how full screen games and the gamma ramp are handled in Windows, so there isn't a solution that works in all cases. This works for some games: http://goebish.free.fr/cpk/

What about 120Hz strobed at 10% vs. 120Hz strobed at 100%? Does the level of strobing affect mouse lag at all?

Just a few microseconds, definitely less than one millisecond.

Thanks. So which one has less lag? 100%?
There's no significant difference in lag between 10% and 100% brightness. 10% will have slightly less motion blur.
I've been reading arround about 120hz and 144hz and what the best is for playing games like Battlefield 4.
Now I'm a bit confused about a few things.

I see people saying that you can't use the Lightboost with 144Hz, yet when I look at the opening post of this thread I see a few 144Hz monitors listed?
If this is true, what would be better to get? A 120Hz+lightboost or a 144Hz monitor?

I play Battlefield 4 a lot and soon I'll be a competitive player and im still playing on a 60Hz screen and I'm looking to update to a new monitorSmile.

Regards,

Tobias
120Hz Lightboost at 100% is my personal sweet spot Smile It'll be a long time before I switch to anything else. Good riddance to motion blur! Even 144Hz without light boost doesn't come close.
What does "refresh rates are swapped" mean in the swapped version that you have? And why do you need for 3D Vision to work? I'm sorry, I just want to understand.

Also, I have Beta 2 installed right now. What is the process in upgrading to Beta 3? Do I need to uninstall Beta 2 first?

Please let me know. Thanks.

thx for reply

it must be an issue with my system. i found out that if i run the refresh rates install app manually, and then strobelight.exe its working w/o having to reboot

so its loading with the system once, and with next load it says no strobed refresh rates found. yep

m/b i just need to check smth in msconfig, i'd likely have a solid fix now if i didnt get my knee drilled last week Big Grin
I have an asus vg278h and was using lightboost fine with your program and a gtx 670. I recently purchased an amd r9 290. lightboost was working fine with that card too. Then yesterday I unplugged my monitor and plug in my tv through hdmi, when I plugged the asus monitor back in through dvi, your program on start up says "no compatible displays found". I ran the strobelight setup and it recognizes the asus monitor to I tried installing 120hz strobe and 121hz, it says it installed and reboot. but then on start up the strobelight.exe says no compatible displays. I tired again with just the 120hz strobed and same thing. Sometimes it will try to initialize and go to sweep 130 and then says no compatible displays. I tried running the CRU1.1 program and reset all displays so that my tv or surround sound receiver wouldnt be there. that didnt work. I then reinstalled windows 8.1, the newest amd drivers, the tostyx strobelight program and im getting the same issue.
