Thanks toasty excellent work!

Does it happen at 96 Hz? What about without the patch? If so, there might be an issue with your SLI bridge.

Yeah it happens at 96hz. I'll try reseating the SLI bridge.

I tried reseating the sli bridge, changing slots, removing the patcher and overclocking in NVCP, throwing card back on stock settings and nothing has worked. I am on a custom firmware and I may try to reflash it back to stock and give that a try, but I don't see how that would affect it.
I went to help my buddy install and overclock his new Qnix and he has Norton installed. Norton wouldn't allow us to install the patcher because it said it was a "ws.trojan.h" . We made the exception and everything worked great after that.. Im assuming it's a false positive because its touching sensitive files but has anyone else gotten that Trojan message? Anyways, we were able to select 120hz, not probs, but it wasnt showing up in some games for some reason, only 60hz. Then after a couple of restarts it started to work with only some games.

So, this morning he went to install the new Nvidia driver with the new patcher to see if he would have better luck and Nvidia control panel only gives the option of 60hz. We used the latest full pixel clock patcher and CRU.. He has a GTX 690. Would the 690 be considered SLI or should we use the normal patch, maybe thats the issue? I have a GTX 580 Classy and everything works perfect on mine, that's why I'm kinda confused.. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Make sure GeForce Experience is not installed. That's known to cause problems with EDID overrides. The GTX 690 is considered SLI.

WS.Trojan.H is a generic heuristic detection category and not a specific threat: http://www.symantec.com/security_respons...13-4647-99

Heuristic detection tries to catch unknown threats by looking for certain behaviors in programs that are otherwise not known to be malicious.
ToastyX.. Thank you. We re-installed the driver and got rid of Geforce Experience, then repatched with your latest full patch. We now have the option of selecting 120 in the Nvidia control panel, all seems great. Except for some reason games still say 60hz..

EDIT: We went into control panel and unchecked "hide modes that this monitor cannot display" and it now works. But for some reason, on mine I still have that checked and my games still give me the 120hz option.

Either way, thanks for your help.. Smile and the patcher too!

EDIT 2: For some reason the 120hz is not sticking. We had it going for a while. All games were selectable at 120hz no probs. We shut down the PC, went out and just booted back up. The Nvidia control says 120hz but the windows control panel says 60hz again and there is no 120hz option and this time the box is not checked. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

That's the same problem GeForce Experience triggers. I don't know why that's happening if it's not installed. Check the device manager under display adapters. Do you see any mirror drivers or anything other than the video cards?

It says NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 two times under display adapters and that's it. I'm assuming twice cause its a dual gpu, but nothing else. The onboard display is off in the BIOS.

EDIT: OK.. It was Samsung magician software at boot. He uninstalled that and it works 100% . Restarted 10 times at least. It was blinking black for a sec before the software booted so maybe it reset something. IDK, but I wanted to let you know and thank you for the help.
The SSD software? I just noticed "Scan for hardware changes" in the device manager triggers the same problem, so the Samsung software is probably doing something similar on startup. This is something NVIDIA needs to fix.

Yes, he has the Samsung 840 Pro SSD. He stopped the magician software from booting and everything works 100%.
Is the patch not needed anymore if you use only Nvidia control panel for your custom resolutions? I just updated from 327.23 to 331.40 through Geforce Experience (it's strange because it never asks me to restart and works fine if I don't.. meaning no restart is needed), restarted (I did it anyway), and my refresh rate is 120hz and I can still use any of my custom resolutions without my drivers being patched.

Should I patch them anyway?

Thanks
