I have a friend that I have been trying to help. He had this old 3007WFP monitor that worked fine with his old computer. He upgraded to this machine https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0111MU6OA/?tag=mtests-20#ad

Now we cannot get the monitor to display 2560 x 1600 properly. We were able to get it to work by using the CRU to give us the parameters that we then entered into the AMD utility but he said (I was helping remotely) the colors were off and the letters looked funny - like not totally formed and hard to read.

Dell has refused to update the monitor driver since windows 7 http://commweb-ps3.us.dell.com/support-f...t/19485146

Is there any way to fix this?
The R7 250 is a budget video card. It doesn't have dual-link DVI. The pixel clock patch will allow 2560x1600 to work over single-link DVI, but it may not display correctly if the monitor expects a dual-link signal. Monitors don't need drivers, so installing one wouldn't make a difference.

So I looked it up and even though it looks like a dual link apparently it is single. Thanks.

btw there are a bunch of R7's that have dual link. this one appears to not be one
