RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hello everybody,
I bought Samsung LU28D590DS/ZA UHD Monitor for my Clevo P150EM today.
It has Displayport 1.1 , HDMI 1.4 , as a video graphic card HD4000 and Quadro5000m.
When i plug displayport cable, i have 2640 x 1440 maximum resulation.
When i plug HDMI cable , i have 1920 x 1080 maximum resulation.
How can i increase my resulation to 3840x2160?

i did it by CRU to 3840 x 2160 but letters are too small in that case. Start button becomes 4-5mm.

With HDMI, you'd have to add 3840x2160 @ 30 Hz because HDMI 1.x doesn't have enough bandwidth for 60 Hz.

That sounds about right. 3840x2160 is a high resolution for a 28" monitor, so everything will appear smaller unless you adjust the DPI settings.

Program lets me to use 85/100 hz refresh rate on Windows 7. testufo shows true refresh rates and everything is fine (it shows 85 or 100 hz). But when im starting any game the monitor is switching (something like turn off and then asap on) and the refresh rates drop to 60 hz.
What should i do to get same 85/100 hz in games?
Sorry for my english languages skills Big Grin
It depends on the game. Many games use the desktop refresh rate, but some will try to force 60 Hz. Some games have a refresh rate option that you can set. If not, you can try creating a resolution that only has the refresh rate you want and make the game use that resolution.

If so, then it applies to DisplayPort too, and that's kinda weird.
Usually monitor limits aren't exact like that, but DisplayPort is packet-based, so I'm not sure. DVI/HDMI monitors don't normally cut off at exactly 165.01 MHz.

In my case it wasn't exactly 165.00 and 165.01, but 164.74 and ~165.04. I guess it doesn't make a difference.
It would make things clear if I had a guaranteed 165+ monitor at my disposal to check and see if it stucks at 165 mhz.

Theoretically, could GPU scaling be the culprit? I didn't try with it disabled because I personally never heared of it causing overclocking issues.

Then it's a monitor limit. Driver limits would be exactly 165 MHz.

No, that would only affect lower resolutions.

i decided to give the monitor back to my supplier.
i'm going to buy a monitor which supports 2640 x 1440..

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Brilliant program ToastyX, thank you. Took me a while to get it to apply the edits and with some trial and error I managed to get a 2560x1440 @ 50hz resolution through HDMI on my ViewSonic VP-2770-LED.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
I try both tools "AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher" and "Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)" and upgrade my 3 monitors for run in 75hz. It´s my top monitor resolution, only one step down in pixels. Thank you!!!

Amazing soft, only that i must restart my SO (windows 8.1) before start because my right monitor don´t match correct resolution at first time. When SO ask my pass i select restart system and second time all well.

Here with Ati Shappire 7870 and 3 Samsung SyncMaster BX2231.

Thank you for your respond. After i make setting in game "window" or "windowed mode" - seems everyhting fine.
But now i have another problem Big Grin After the AMD 14.9 update i cant overclock to my previous refresh rates 85/100. Tried maybe ~20 times change settings but nothing happens. First time when i installed CRU everything was fine form first or second time.
Maybe you can recommend manual settings for Iiyama Pro 454 19" CRT?
P.S. - and after i use patcher, cant watch videos online (youtube, etc.). Only hear sound. - Fixed now after disabling hardware acceleration that was mentioned in first post as know issues.
P.P.S. (10.08) - Now seems everything fine. First i tried my HTPC with AMD APU CPU with integrated GPU - everything worked fine from first time. HTPC have WIN 8. So i decided reinstall my gaming PC from WIN 7 to WIN 8. But then nothing... After hour or two trying different options (disabling onboard GPU, enabling and etc), i found that AMD Catalyst Control Center have EDID check option (in VGA displays properties). I uncheked it and now i have all refresh rates without reboot that i made before with CRU.
Sorry for distributing Big Grin
One more thing - WIN 7 couldnt install AMD Catalyst Control Center. Only on WIN 8 installation was without problems. CRU is so simple to set everything, but it gets complain cause of third party applications.
