That doesn't make sense unless the monitor is scaling it wrong. It should scale the same as any other 4:3 resolution, and a 4:3 resolution on a 5:4 monitor would be taller or skinnier, not wider.

If the 16:9 monitor is 1920x1080, then scaling 2048x1080 to fill the screen should make it skinnier, or 1800x1080 if you want it wider by the same amount. GPU scaling won't scale down higher resolutions, but the monitor might.

so you've got me and answer now i can try making these resolutions and see which i'll like
