It only happens at the bottom of the screen. It disturbs me the most in games and when browsing facebook.
That's normal. The screen refreshes from top to bottom, but the backlight strobes the entire screen at once, so the pixels at the bottom of the screen don't have as much time to transition.

The main problems with LightBoost are low contrast and gamma. The contrast can't really be fixed, and gamma settings don't tend to stick in games. You won't have trouble distinguishing details in dark areas with the default gamma.

Alright, so it's normal. I'm a bit disappointed that it can't be fixed, but on the other hand I'm relieved, because I suspected my monitor was broken.
I'll most definitely keep using lightboost, regardless of some artifacts here and there.

If you have extra money, buy the VG278H instead; you get double the LightBoost contrast of VG248QE, and no purple tint effect. You can also jack the contrast ratio upwards on the VG278H to 90% and get >900:1 with no black clipping / white clipping. Hey,

I recently bought ASUS VG248QE after hearing about lightboost.
I have gtx480.

Problem is, it works good and I can see clearer motion. But when I am playing CS:GO or quake 3 cpma with lightboost on @120hz I feel like im having big input lag. I tried with both vsync-on and off and adaptative vsync.

Is there any solution for this? In quake i have a steady 120fps (and it's a really old game).

In cs:go I had a jumpy 150-300fps before with multirendering on, with lightboost a steady 120fps (so I dont think my gtx480 should be the problem).

I am also curious if any other serious gamers /progamers experience this.

edit: I think it was due to vsync and/or multirendering on. I have to investigate this more tomorrow

edit2: so after reading someother website talking about this apparently VSYNC gives input lag.

Does lightboost give inputlag if vsync is off?

VSYNC OFF -- Least lag, but microstutters/tearing can become more visible with CRT's and LightBoost. LightBoost can look 'jittery' sometimes.
Adaptive VSYNC -- Tries to combine the best of the two above. Generally will have less lag than VSYNC ON, more lag than VSYNC OFF

There seems to be a communication issue with the monitor. How do you have it connected? Make sure it's dual-link DVI. Try another cable if you have one. Try the other DVI port as well.

Hey, thanks for your response.
I really like this lightboost, and it does get a little jittery with VSYNC off but it doesn't bother me that much.

But when you say VSYNC off has least lag, do you mean it adds a little bit of input lag compared to just having 144hz, or do you mean it still has a little input lag due to monitor?
[Also, I'd be curious to know if anyone knows if multirendering adds inputlag or not (CS:GO). It says "disabled" mode has higher framerate, but my fps drops by roughly 80fps to around 170ish]

Using boot camp on my macbook pro retina and running windows 7 ultimate
I'm using a Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter from my macbook pro retina to my BENQ XL2411T, is this the problem? Also I tried the CRT method it I think it works?
How do I know if lightboost is enabled because I got through applying it on nvidia settings and turned on 3d stereoscopic and have set the option to always but I don't notice any 'dim of screen' people claim to experience

Also is there a link to adding a 144 hz lightboost using the CRT method? and is it better in terms of ms in comparison to 120hz lightboost ?
