Any CRT monitor with an OSD will reject resolutions outside of operational limits, so you can safely try it and see if it works.

But I still don't understand. Is it possible to increase the factory limits? as the limit is 160hz can i increase the vertical frequency to recognize 170hz? Or will the monitor deny the change?
