Right now I'm playing with AW3423DWF. I love the screen, but flickering in VRR is absolutely terrible in some problematic games like Alan Wake 2 for example, or Tekken 8 in loading screens, and character select screen, when 3d models load in and game stutters.
I tried to change VRR range from default 48-165 to 80-165 or even 90-165 and it flickers less but still not ideal.
The only way to have some kind of VRR without flicker is to use 60Hz. I actually created custom 63Hz using QFT so pixel clock is the same as default 165Hz to hopefully reduce input lag and leave some room for vsync. I Mostly play fighting games and graphically demanding single player games, using gamepad, locking everything to 60fps.
I'm using Nvidia GPU connected to display port and my issue is that VRR kicks in @50fps, it's a little bit high for my liking. I would like to lower it, but even 47-165 allready screen goes black.
Is there any setting in CRU that could let me lower it?
My previous 4k 60Hz LCD monitor had really nice 40-60 range.

You need to reduce the vertical blanking/total if you want to try a lower range. Using QFT would be like trying to change the range at 165 Hz, so there's no headroom. Other than that, you'll be limited by whatever the monitor will accept.
