RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hello, I'm wondering if the CRU utility can help me. After my 32 inch monitor went dim I upgraded to a 40 inch 1080 display but instead of getting more screen real estate everything has only gotten bigger. I'm wondering if there is a way to scale everything down so it appears smaller. All windows 11 settings are already at their extremes. I updated the graphics driver but there is nothing in the software to help.
My onboard graphics says it will do 4096x2160 @ 60hz (depending on CPU, which is i9-14900K with 128 gb ram) . I have a DP to HDMI that has 8k printed on it. I look at the CRU utility and I don't know what all the settings mean (front porch, back porch, sync width). Before I struggle to learn more I was wondering if you think there is a chance I my monitor will display a higher resolution or if I should buy a 4k monitor? The problem with buying a new 4k monitor is they are either really big (aka 43" tv) or too small or super expensive. It seems like it should be possible to make everything smaller without changing resolutions. Should I look into graphics cards that come with utilities that fool the monitor? What are your suggestions? Thank you! |
