No matter what I do in CRU, making the only resolution available of 3440x1440 does not work with my dummy plug, the option to select this resolution does not happen anywhere within windows.

What dummy plug is it? You need to make sure to stay within the pixel clock limit for the dummy plug.

It's a no-brand displayport plug that I picked up from a local e-tailer, natively it supports 4k (3840) @ 60hz and I figured it would have been trivial to restructure that to 3440x1440

Would making an unsupported resolution result in it not being displayed within windows as a select-able option? Could I simply reduce the 'monitor' hz in a custom resolution?
