I got the resolution in CRU, rebooted and it showed up in Catalyst and in Windows Resolutions, but when I choose it the resolution is scaled larger than the screen.

So from that i can only see my background and not the taskbar. Can I get some help on why this happens?

Higher resolutions will only work if the monitor can handle them. If you're using a laptop or a monitor that can't scale, it will probably just cut off the right and bottom.
