RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)

I noticed for it to work the monitor must report a working EDID. I have a Westinghouse LCM 22w3 which normally is capable of 1680x1050. The problem is that the monitor is detected as an Acer AL1714 and my resolution is maxed at 1280x1024.It sounds like the monitor has the wrong EDID. CRU can override that as long as the monitor is reporting an EDID, even if it's the wrong one. CRU will only work with the monitor connected to the Radeon card and not the Intel HD 4600. Add 1680x1050 @ 60 Hz as a detailed resolution using the "LCD standard" timing option, and make sure it's listed as the first detailed resolution to indicate that it's the native resolution (you can use the arrow buttons to rearrange them). Get rid of any other resolutions that you don't need (it's safe to remove all the other resolutions), and make sure the extension block is disabled because 1920x1080 could be hiding in there. Then click OK and reboot. If you still have 1920x1080 after that, make sure you didn't add any HDTV resolutions in the Catalyst Control Center (under "My Digital Flat-Panels" -> "HDTV Support"). |
