I have enabled that setting a few times now, but it results in severe flickering. I quickly concluded that it was because my PC was defaulting to 12bit signal while still serving a 60hz 4k signal. Lowering the refresh rate to 30hz stabilized desktop conditions.

This allowed me to get it to at least show up as a resolution. However, when I caused the video card to scale instead of the display, the 4k signal @ 60z failed to work in game without the same flickering. Even though I've set it to not use HDR (manually lowered to 8bit and disabled the setting in windows), it still seems like it's causing an issue somewhere.

Is it likely these symptoms would be caused by the cable not being full HDMI 2.0? I'm not entirely sure of what specs this cable has. I don't have any "definitely full bandwidth 2.0" cables lying around to swap out with. I suspect this because my only colour output format option at 60hz is YCbCr420 (when in 8 bit).

Yep, cable wasn't high enough bandwidth and that was the issue. Thanks for your help.
