PG278Q Hz Problem, need help please

I already told you what the problem is. Either your laptop doesn't support DisplayPort 1.2, or the driver doesn't support DisplayPort 1.2 for your laptop.

That's like saying a 1 TB hard drive is only some bytes more than a 600 GB hard drive. It's very substantial. 2560x1440 @ 144 Hz requires about 70% more bandwidth than 1920x1080 @ 144 Hz. This is a data transfer limitation, not a processing power limitation.
