Vizio P502ui b1e 120hz Occasional black out
Hello all,

So I got 120hz to work using Toasty's tool and patch through a ATI 6970 using a Hdmi 1.4 cord. I set the timings to LCD Standard and it works but every once in awhile it seems the screen goes black and comes back.

Any clue why? Are the timings needing to be adjusted? Maybe it's the video card having the issue, but I spent hours on this now I'm just banging my head on this.

Any help would be appreciated!

120 Hz at what resolution? I'm assuming 1920x1080. Has the Vizio been confirmed to work at 1920x1080 @ 120 Hz?

Blackouts usually indicate a signal-quality problem or a hardware limitation in the video card or monitor. I'm not sure if the 6000-series cards fully support HDMI 1.3+ speeds, but if you can get 3840x2160 @ 30 Hz, then you should be able to get 1920x1080 @ 120 Hz. Try the "LCD reduced" option and see if that helps. That might reduce the pixel clock enough to make it stable.

If that doesn't work but 3840x2160 @ 30 Hz works fine at 297 MHz pixel clock, then try adding 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz using the "LCD standard" option; then switch to manual and change the refresh rate to 120 Hz. That should also be 297 MHz.

I'm having the same issue on a Vizio M60-C3. I use the Nivida control panal to create a custom 1080 @ 120Hz resolution. 3840x2160 @ 30 Hz and @60 hz work fine for me.
