120hz on QNIX
I can get to this refresh rate using:

Modeline "2560x1440_120" 462.84 2560 2624 2640 2660 1440 1442 1444 1450 +hsync -vsync

But i see artifacting. The higher pixel clock timings are a lot worse. Is it possible that it's the cable? I noticed that the monoprice ones are thicker. I'm currently using the one that came with the monitor.

edit: this is a bit better:

it does have issues with gradiants though.

it does have issues with gradiants though.

Dual link DVI is only rated up to 450 MHz with the TDMS chips (yes I know, officially its 330 MHz but that's a driver limit).
Going past that is a pure lottery of luck. Usually it's the scalar or TDMS limits holding you back. if it's not the TDMS limits, it's the scalar itself crapping out on you.

My XL2720Z (1080p) monitor has the same problem with artifacts.
I can get it to run at 2560x1440 (display scaled edid override) at 115 MHz without artifacts at 454.67 MHz pixel clock, by using the lowest possible valid horizontal total, HT 2641 (yes I know its a 1920x1080 monitor but firmware "bugs" let me do some really funky things with resolutions.....I can even get 3200x1800@60hz working, or 3840x2160@30hz (!), but 1 hz higher at 2560x1440(e.g. 116hz) or any higher on the horizontal total (which also increases the pixel clock) starts getting artifacts. . I can only get 115 mhz with Displayport. DVI just makes the monitor shut off. 2560x1440@100hz over DVI (404 MHz pixel clock) works fine though. 120hz (474.43 MHz) with HT 2641 and VT 1497 works without frameskipping but there are artifacts all over the place. ToastyX said that's a scalar limitation.

I could probably run 120hz IF I could get the pixel clock down to 454 MHz, but that's only possible if I can lower the Vertical total, but the Benq XL2720Z (with all its firmware bugs and "features") shows a black screen out of range at any vertical total under 1497 or above 1502 (the next lower VT that works is 1370 and that's invalid for 1440p).
