Remove all extra refresh rates?
First off, Thank you Toasty for all your hard work in CRU. I've been using it for years, probably over a decade now.
My current machine is Windows 11 24H2 (Build 26100.3775) GPU: AMD RADEON 7900XTX on 25.3.2 driver EDIT: VRR/DRR is off everywhere I can find it, in Windows and AMD adrenaline panel. Up until recently (several months at least), I've been able to use CRU to remove all the extra refresh rates, so that only 360Hz is available. This stops the monitor (Alienware AW2725DF) from dropping down when a game is capped at 60 FPS. But now, windows always shows a bunch of refresh rates. ![]() Trying to play Elden Ring again but the monitor keeps dropping down to 60Hz and there's tearing and flicker and it's just awful. Do you know of any way I can get around this? |

RE: Remove all extra refresh rates?
If the monitor doesn't have a way to disable VRR, then try setting the range limits to 360-360 Hz to disable VRR.

Hmm, not sure how to do that in CRU. ![]() This is what I have in CRU. I can see 48-360Hz at the top under Detailed Resolutions, but I can't edit that. When I open the CTA-861 Extension block data it shows 48-240Hz. Trying to change it 360Hz the text turns red and won't let me save it. |

RE: Remove all extra refresh rates?
Use the "Edit..." button at the top of the main window to edit the range limits.

Something weird is going on and I think it's the display doing it. When I go in game in fullscreen mode (Elden Ring), game is running at 60 FPS and the monitor reports 360hz, in the OSD and I can tell. After about 30 seconds, the screen goes black and it switches modes and then it shows 60hz. I noticed in the AMD adrenalin software, that the monitor is reporting 48-60hz only. ![]() I tried with Freesync on and off, it does the same thing. At the start, before the monitor switches to 60Hz mode, the monitor reports 48-360Hz. ![]() |

RE: Remove all extra refresh rates?
I give up man.
I created a custom resolution of 2560x1439 @ 360Hz. It shows up in Windows just fine, but of course there's extra refresh rates all the way back down to 60Hz. Elden Ring in fullscreen still causes monitor to switch to 60Hz. Fuck it. Borderless mode it is, I'll just have to give up HDR support. |

RE: Remove all extra refresh rates?
Try deleting the FreeSync data block. Then edit the range limits. The display can't cause a mode switch. This is something the latest version of Windows 11 is doing. It's adding virtual refresh rates if FreeSync/VRR is enabled. I'm not sure why it still happens with FreeSync/VRR disabled in Radeon Settings. It's normal for the FreeSync/VRR range to drop with the actual refresh rate, but that shouldn't be happening if it's a virtual refresh rate, nor should the actual refresh rate drop automatically. Maybe AMD support can explain what's going on.
