It found many things to patch, ı patched them then restarted the pc and still couldnt pass the 165 mhz limit. Is there anything i am doing wrong or the this is the monitor limit? Btw im using my laptop with its hdmi output and my monitor's input is DVI-I Dual Link so im using a transmitter.
If the patch doesn't work, then there's nothing you can do.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hello,
I have a 1920x1080 monitor (NVIDIA GPU) and I want to make it 2560x1080, so that 320 pixel on the right and 320 pixel on the left are off the monitor (not shown). Is that possible? And if yes, how? I tried some settings, but yet it doesn't work. To be honest, I dont have that much knowledge about doing things like that.
Sorry if that was already answered once, I tried the search function but didnt found something useful. I d be really happy if someone could explain it too me, so that I can make these settings. Smile

I don't know a way to do that.

RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
Hello everybody o/,

Looking at the Radeon driver software there is a little section which details the current display link. Here is what it says about my display.

Current Link Settings - 2.7 Gbps x 2

Which I believe to be HBR DP V1 or V1.1

The Radeon VII seems to not like the DP to VGA adaptor or recognise it as a DP 1.3 device.

Not sure what to make of this.

I will buy a HDMI to VGA converter I think.

Does anyone know of a good OLED monitor?

It's restarting correctly. The problem is some drivers will crash sometimes, usually AMD.

I haven't heard of NVIDIA being a problem. Just reboot instead of using restart64.exe.

If you just need a single window of an app to do that: use a 1920x1080 resolution. Then use a script to change the window size to 2560x1080 and centre the window. I don't know if it will work. First you need a program that can change the size and position of windows in other apps (like an automation utility?). Then you need for that other app to support having it's window moved and not completely on screen.

That only shows the current link settings: 2 lanes of HBR. It doesn't show the max link settings. For example, you could connect a 4K display that uses 4 lanes of HBR2 to get 4K 60Hz, but if the resolution is only 1080p then it could use a lower link rate (HBR or RBR).

It is unclear if the adapter has an MST hub (where each output can appear as a different display in the OS and multiple displays can be connected at the same time, each having a different image). That doesn't have anything to do with the VGA adapter limit but it would be interesting to know.
