HP ZR24W
Anything other than 60Hz gives me "out of range". Is there anything that can be done to get 50Hz and multiples of 23.976?

RE: HP ZR24W
The HP ZR24w only supports 59-61 Hz.

RE: HP ZR24W
Can you tell by monitor or panel specs whether 47.952-60Hz is supported? EDIT: Are vertical frequency specs safe to go by?

RE: HP ZR24W
I just want confirmation. There's no advanced or even risky methods to get other refresh rates out of this monitor?

No, monitor specs are unreliable. Sometimes the specs will list what refresh rates the monitor will accept, but there's no guarantee it will display them properly. Some monitors will accept lower refresh rates while converting the output to 60 Hz by duplicating frames, which causes judder and defeats the purpose of using lower refresh rates. The same applies to higher refresh rates. Some monitors will convert the output to 60 Hz by skipping frames, and some monitors will only accept higher refresh rates at lower resolutions.

Most 1920x1200 monitors can only handle 60 Hz properly. You'd have better luck with 1920x1080 monitors, and you're more likely to get 72 Hz than 48 Hz. Cheap desktop monitors are more likely to handle custom refresh rates properly than expensive color-managed monitors.

No, not unless you know how to modify the monitor's firmware.

RE: HP ZR24W
I was starting to look at the HP LP2475W but I understand now despite it's spec sheet it won't necessarily bring any real benefits. Thanks for helping me save the time and effort, I'm hanging on to this otherwise excellent monitor for the time being. EDIT: What's the situation with 24-25" 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 monitors?
