NVIDIA DSR on Ultrawide monitor (Black Screen)
Good afternoon!
I recently purchased a new widescreen monitor to replace my old widescreen monitor. The resolution of both monitors is 3440x1440. On my first monitor, the Asrock PG34WQ15R2B, NVIDIA DSR works well, multiplying the 3440x1440 resolution to get a resolution of 6880x2880. However, on my new monitor, the TCL 34R83Q, I encountered a problem. The maximum resolution without enabling DSR can be set to 3840x2160 instead of 3440x1440 as on the Asrock monitor. Because of this, NVIDIA DSR multiplies the resolution based on 3840x2160, not 3440x1440. This results in an 8K resolution with black bars, not the 6880x2880 resolution that a widescreen monitor should have. I just registered on this forum today and learned about this wonderful program called CRU. After trying to remove the resolution following the instructions on the website, I got a black screen and Windows froze. The only solution is reset-all.exe. Please help me remove the 3840x2160 resolution from my ultrawide monitor so I can properly increase the resolution using NVIDIA DSR. |

Unfortunately this is an NVIDIA driver bug. Normally the problem only happens while Windows is booting with G-SYNC enabled. If it happens after restarting the driver, the only other option is to disable G-SYNC for both monitors.
