Noob alert - Configuring an EDID Emulator
Hey guys,

Im gonna try to describe my problem as clearly as I can, as I'm completely new to this.
  • I've recently purchased a SONERO HDMI EDID Emulator that I was planning on using to "fake" HDR compatibility for game streaming from my PC to the TV in my living room.
  • I've checked the instructions attached to the EDID emulator, but they did not really yield the results that I've expected. The EDID emulator is not detected as an HDR compatible monitor by Windows.
  • My TV is a Sony Bravia X90J, and my GPU is an RTX 2070.
  • I've recently downloaded the CRU from your forums, but I've no real clue what to do and what kind of parameters I should be looking at. I've tried adding HDR static metadata, HDMI 2.1 Support to the CTA-861 Extension Block, but after restarting, it did not work.

I would appreciate any help and in case I was not clear, please let me know what additional info I should provide.

Best,

RE: Noob alert - Configuring an EDID Emulator
That EDID emulator is supposed to remember the display's EDID. If that's not sufficient to get HDR, then I don't know what will work. Adding HDR data blocks with CRU doesn't seem to have any effect.
