vga monitor refresh rate overclock
Hi guys

I've got e-machines e17t6w monitor with 75hz standard refresh rate @ 1440x900
i must overclock refresh rate how high i can bcz i play online fps games , higher hz - better game performance , you know.

i've got geforce 9600 gt with 304.48 driver

windows 7 64 bit

i installed the tempest monitor drivers (Tempest X270OC)

patched with nvlddmkm-patcher-1.1.5 (and 1.1.6 too..)

and @ nvidia control panel , at ALL resolutions i can set only 78 hz (142.3Mhz)

at 78hz monitor works , but when i set to 79 or 80 or 120 or 96.. you know i see a black monitor with
"FREQUENCY OUT OF RANGE" title...

how to set this monitor to higher refresh rate ?

Can i oc this monitor for 85hz maybe? Please for fast respond , waiting for experienced guys replies

Thanks , turu.

RE: vga monitor refresh rate overclock
Try "CVT reduced blank" in the NVIDIA control panel. If that doesn't help, then the monitor doesn't support higher refresh rates.

You can't make the monitor accept a higher refresh rate. Most LCD monitors will not accept 85 Hz.

The patch is for driver limits, not monitor limits. You can't get around monitor limits with software.

What do you mean by this? Did you try playing with the scaling options in the NVIDIA control panel?

RE: vga monitor refresh rate overclock
That's the monitor then. Since you're using VGA, try auto adjust on the monitor. If "CVT reduced blank" isn't working properly, then just use regular CVT. If that still doesn't work, then the monitor can't handle 78 Hz either. Did it work originally?
